I have established kingdom basically surrounding a wildlands. In the last few turns Vetrar, Guardian of the World's End, has decided to leave the wildlands boundary and wander around my area. Not a big deal except that I need to avoid him like the plague currently. Is this supposed to happen?

I always though it was Ceresa that was deemed as The Fallen Enchantress. In all the promo releases it seems to look a lot like her..no?
Sorry. I have a hard time realizing there is a world outside of my North American bubble. [e digicons]o_O[/e]
Well if I recall correctly, the previous BETA updates and new releases were typically posted anywhere from 3:00pm EST to 8:00pm EST. My guess is that this thing is ready to go by 4:00pm EST that would be 1:00pm PST for you west coasters.
I would suggest getting the game. It is a lot of fun in its current state, especially with the diplomacy tweaks and heroes additions. The AI is adequate. It will challenge you at times, but with any TBS game you will eventually learn how the AI reacts and plan accordingly. The game has currently implemented a multiplayer (BETA) which I haven't tried yet, but that may interest you as well.
Yes...Steam is kinda sneaky about updates. There is that bottom line of the window that shows something is downloading...and even then it isn't entirely clear what the patch includes unless there is a post in the news about it. Most times I find myself booting up the game to see what the update was.
I agree the changes are really nice. I particularly like the lords and artifact additions. However, they might be glass cannons since I keep getting them killed...but maybe that is just me being too aggressive with them. The diplomacy changes are nice, but the AI still seems manic about declaring war & offering peace. In one game an AI declared war and brokered a peace treaty 3 times in a span of about 15 turns. &
Very nice. Where is that? Is that Grand Traverse Bay?
I second this request....
I agree. The AI is probably just taking advantage of this ability to stack enchantments. Now there are mana upkeep costs, and you would need a healthy mana income to keep those enchantments up....but still I don't think it should be allowed to stack the same enchantment so many times. At the very least the mana upkeep should be compounded exponentially per enchantment.
About 118 turns in Tarth (Lady Irene) came marching into my territory with an 80 attack. Upon checking what ridiculous gear she had I found this:
For what it is worth, I am not looking to cheat with the 'reveal fog of war' command. Rather I wanted to see how the AI was continuing on when I was rendered obsolete relatively early in the game.
I know that it has been stated the CTRL + U removes the fog of war, but when I try it, it does nothing. Is there some setting I need on to allow for the 'cheat'?
I was able to build it right after research "standing army"...at least that is when I first saw it in my training list.
Interesting...whenever I get that quest I never ended up fighting the rats...it just says I took care of them and I proceeded to turn in the quest. It has been this way ever since WoM. Did they change this quest in 0.914?
I don't think that anything was ever added to the WOM campaign after release...save some bug fixes. As for the Fallen Enchantress Campaign, see the thread linked below https://forums.elementalgame.com/419974
You know, I couldn't figure out whether the OP was joking or not about the AI in the 0.913 build. It sounds like it is behaving the way everybody wants it too. In my opinion the ultimate AI would be one that is indistinguishable from a 'real' player. If the AI is grabbing all the goodie huts and killing rival champions....that my friend, is exactly what a real opponent would be doing in order to beat you.
Hey Das - Are we going to see any more of this series?
Who else here would love a lot more of these "long" play-throughs? I love seeing how the developer plays his own game.
This is a repeatable bug. Every time I attempt to engage in diplomacy or dialogue by clicking on the faction name in the faction power window the game stalls and ends up closing debug http://dl.dropbox.com/u/59194037/FallenEnchantress0_91-2012-04-25T11-50-59-91.zip save
I'll be back in a month or two. Just going to focus on other projects. Derek has things well in hand as you can see in 0.911. We still have months to colander we do appreciate all feedback.
Gee thanks Didden and others. You managed to chase Frogboy away. His openness and willingness to share his thoughts with us was one of the reasons I followed this forum on a daily basis.
OK. I will try that. Thanks
Is there a way to run FE in windowed mode?
Why would you think there are tactical AI changes? This beta is focusing on faction differentiation.
I can't imagine that froggy didn't tweak some AI from 0.86 to now. Quite honestly though, even if there was no tactical AI changes, the changes in the weapons/armor and units should go a long ways in making the tactical AI more of a challenge. P.S. my ultimate tactical A
Been over a month of work and dev blogs since the original patch date so it might be like playing a new game. I'm certainly excited
Outside of the faction changes, I am really anxious to see if the tactical AI has improved at all.
