i like this idea, it would also make a good Super Event, the discovery of a stable wormhole!!
NeoWolfen
EVE is a great game its only flaw is that it offers practically nothing to the non pvp crowd, and limits how much pve you can do. If you want ANY involvement in the more interesting aspects building your own bases, advanced mining and crafting etc.. you have to go low sec sooner or later its unavoidable. Which also means you will get spanked REAL quick if you dont know what to do, stand still too long, stop to mine, dont know what to expect, or arent into pvp, and considering ships aint free y
to be honest i've never been a fan of online multiplay for many of the reasons listed in the journal entry, but also because this isnt the kind of game i'd play online anyway.. now a non online multiplayer player "Hot seat" game with alternating player turns on a single computer..YES..that I would play because we can always save and everyone can come back to it later and play it on the same computer at another time. Also a LAN option is nice
Game Visuals definitely help screenshots of action, various features.. but also text describing the features. I'd pay particular note of the ship design feature as well as the custom race feature as they are two of the most excellant customisable additions.
Doesn't work sadly they decommission them for cash to build thier own. Same with colonies they abanadon those. Allying with them all you do is have to fight every battle for them because they are completely incapable of defending themselves Only way I've found to keep my Snathi
They are pointless beynd the occasional addition of a colonisable planet that wasnt previously colonisable thier presence dictates. They just sit on thier worlds and wage war with opponents they cant possibly hope to beat, they build coloniser and constructors and do nothing useful with them. they all are simply waiting to die. You can ally with them but again whats the point.. the moment another empire spots them thier existence
I don't know if this changes much at higher difficulty levels as I typically dont play above normal as I get the most enjoyment at that level... but why don't minor races make more of an effort at expanding? They almost always just tend to work at defending thier world but not really expanding.. indeed the only Minor Race I have ever seen get more than one world was the I-League when they appear. It would be really refreshing to see some of
I've had planets by demanding them before, typically when im at war with a civllisation and they're losing badly. But definitely never had them offer me planets off thier own back. They've asked for tech trades before and asked for help plenty when they're getting beaten by some other species. But never offered me anything for nothing beyond just cash.
All these aliens ever offer me is cash.. Though I tend to build lots of starbases anyway so they might think I dont need them.
Not found it necessary to arm or armour them yet..but sticking a few engines on them ensuring they can out run any enemy ship has definitely proved useful, nothing funnier than watching the AI have thier ships chase a freighter for sever turns all the while losing ground on it as it burns away.
If you dont like the way the UP functions then leave the UP..you have that option and then there bills no longer apply to you.. though the others get a little upset
also no RTS elements in Gal Civ 2, thankfully when it comes to planetary invasions
I've had between 14-20 Rangers from Random Events in just about every game I've played to date but I always pick luck and universalist normally so my luck is up there
Every now and then I have one ship, that will not add to a fleet, it will create a fleet by itself, and I can not add any other ship to it, no matter what my logistics is. That ship is sent to a planet to never be seen again. The I never have the problem again during that game. Pretty much the same e
Maybe they have got the Reign of the Xenophiles effect going? Sounds very similar to what happens when a player gets it. I think it is a couple stacked..that haven't ended for some reason, there cant be any other explanation.. taking one of thier worlds helped a bit though i didnt get the same nice i
You shoudl know that influence bases arent the onyl way to raise your influence, they probably built a lot of infulence buildings and their population exploded. two or three on each world but no more than I have built and I have about 6 times as many worlds and some 44 influence starbases maxed out..
I dont think its the population bug as thier expanded influence has been in place for a few hundred turns now plus ive reloaded a couple of times in order to test it, There have been a few influence random events though, but they are supposed to affect everyone arent they?
I've just played the wierdest game of Gal Civ 2 yet, and I gotta say it has me baffled... gigantic map, me and 6 alien races... within 50 turns or so the Torian confederation falls to the You Collective and hands off its remaining worlds to the Altarians. Some turns later the Drengin are vanquished by the Altarians and give thier worlds to the Thalan Empire (Drengin cant have put up much of a fight they owned a quarter of the galaxy when t
Lucky and Creative..definitely As back up a little bit of Economy and Research, mix with a smidgeon of Morale and sprinkle with Planet quality and bake in the oven till done. Then Top with a Universalist outlook and sit back as the Free "lucky Rangers" come rolling in...sweeeeet
The ability to board enemy ships during combat as opposed to just attacking them would be nice so i can capture some alien looking ships for my home fleet. Also Some ship combat Tactics to correlate to the kinds of tascts we see in ground invasions would be nice and add a new tactical dynamic to ship combats. Ability to have a Non Campaign Custom Game with multiple Custom created races would be high on my list too. also
As I say such symbols are already readily available and used on multitudes of fansites without permissions, put on a database like this is no different, no money is being made from it and therefore the chances of the company caring are next to none and even if they did a cease and desist notice would be issued first..so even if the worst
UFP logo is in, Tal Shiar is in..do you think permission was obtained from the Roddenberry Foundation or Paramount... doubtful, do you think they care? nope or such logos, images etc...wouldn't be on a million fansites around the globe without said permission too. Typically speaking
I already have said logo along with a bunch of others and portraits pending approval from various sources from many of the popular sci fi franchises.
So there I am playing a good race, doing good deeds, thwarting the tyrants of the universe... the Drengin got a sound spanking and put back in thier sandbox and told to play nicely... the Yor were told assimilations were not nice and thier battery chargers were taken away... heck I even retook the Iconian homeworld, and then it struck me... I know I'll give the ancestral homeworld back to the Iconians, they were nice if hard done by alien dudes.. I f
The ability to terraform class 0 worlds at some point would be nice too.
