I have always thought that borders are a great idea but most other people here think it is impossible to implement due to the size of space and vast distances between planets. I also think borders would be a lot of fun, and I don't understand why people find it hard to imagine such a thing could exist. I don't think anybody is talking a

No, I just rode into town with my Pandemonium Carnival, but don't worry, I won't touch your precious things. PS: Do you want to buy some pegs?
Why then when I purchase a ship the starport says it will be completed in 0 turns but I need to wait 1 turn for it to complete? Red tape - don't forget you'll need to get it M.O.T.'d and taxed before you can take it out.
Pretty much every modern galactic conquest game is a descendant of MoO 1, Galciv included. MoO 1 itself is more of a descendant of Spaceward Ho! and Reach For The Stars than anything else The original GalCiv came before MOO.
What's your Battlefield rank Frogboy. You any good?
This is great news. I'm a bit busy playing Battlefield 2142 at the moment though, so I may avoid downloading it on the first day, like everyone else is going to do (good luck with that, lol).
Old Men Modelling Garters?
Aye, that could work also. The base doesn't disappear, but if you can get constructors there, you can "repair" one module at a time (still saves 1 for the initial build). But, if the enemy gets a transport there, they can attempt to board it.
yeah, i don't usually bother with them that much either. its tedious sending lots of constructors out. i'd rather just get extra war ships.
My planet is now apparently a ship (????) The same happened to me last night. My trading ship was stuck under my planet and I couldn't launch any ships. Instead of making a fleet to destroy the Torians, I had to sit and watch as all my defenders were picked off one by one.
I like the idea of making them stronger, but more expensive. Here's an idea for starbases: Allow players to design them in the same way as ships. Then when you build one with a constructor you can pick one from your list, and it will already be kitted out with all the weapons and upgrades you wanted. (Even if you have to pay 3~4,000BC all at once when you build it). You can then pay to upgrade starbases, so those influence bases that are now deep in your territory
If the devs reply, they're opening the flood gates for more threads like this. That's why they won't. The last thing they want is the forum full of "Hey Brad I luv ur game. My suggestiuns r obvious winnerz. Talk to me plz, nobody else will."
Excellent, and with November just around the corner, it's not too long until the DA beta either.
I'm only reading responses from Stardock personnell. I'm not a sociable person. <TD class="mb-Body-Quo
get the image of a chubby, glasses wearing, pimple faced, chocolate stained little dweeb... for any of you senior folk in here, remember messy marvin from the nesle quik commercials? You do? Good! That's him!!!! Marvin is the OP!! Wow, we've figured out what happened to Marvin... quick, someone call VH1!!! We need to do a "where are they now" special. <b
So I'm in a gigantic v1.31 game and I had pretty much wiped out the Korx, leaving them with two planets. At that point I noticed about 15 different fleets from all over the map all heading to the identical point (235,13) deep within Terran space. There were about 5 fleets each from the Yor, Thalan and Terran. I'd never seen anything like it before. I didn't know
I don't know if that's been posted as an official bug, though. It should be, otherwise what's the point of displaying an estimated build time?
Ok, so now the FINAL 1.4 changes are out, can we assume that all the bugs on this thread have been fixed?
This looks awesome, but it seems like the colony rush is going to be speeded up now, when in previous patches it was slowed down. What's Stardock's view on the colony rush? Does it play the way you want it to?
I've noticed that trading regularly and often helps. One large trade is less effective than several smaller ones. This is harder to do with tech trading off, as there really isn't much else worth trading. You could try gifting things though. Research all the diplomacy techs. The higher your diplomacy rating compared to theirs, the easier it is to get an alliance. All your trades are worth more as they value what you offer them a lot higher.
So, don't click the surrender option if you want to stay in the game, as some of us have done (usually only once). Yes... I wonder what they were smoking when they added this "feature".
1. In my current game, I was sizing up the Yor Collective when I noticed they hadn't colonized Iconia V for some reason. I checked their star system, and it turns out that they have a very good reason: It wasn't there. I know it used to be there; I have an old save file with it. What happened to Iconia V? How odd. I was playing last night and I n
That's happened to me before. The AI grabs the planets nearest to you, and then when you're scrambling around for more, you seem to get beaten to each one by a turn or two. It can be frustrating, but I wouldn't say it's hopeless. I've had successful games where I haven't built a single colony ship. Apart from using the first colony ship, I can go straight for planetary invasion and take quite a few worlds with transports. PS Did you colonize Mars with your first colony ship?<b
It's something I would like to see in the game, and also more impassable terrain, like nebulae or black holes.
Aww, it doesn't have to be realistic. Swap coal for some new kind of green rock, the water for some kind of orange fluid and add in some other sci-fi mumbo jumbo or cliche, and it'll work. It's not like we know how warp drives would really work.
