This topic has been brought up a few times already and I believe everyone who has commented on it has voiced an opinion of support. I'm not sure about the devs position on it however. I am all for it as it enhances immersion factor a lot and that is always good.
@Aro - So far so good. My intent was to make the carrier more worthwhile. You see whenever I build them, they quickly become toast in nearly every battle and just does not seem right on any level. Carriers are the most devastating weapons platform (short of nuke subs, which when they are done doing their special business there is nothing left to play with) that has been to sea since mid way through that last century and I think it should be reflected accordingly. When I get time I'm go
It should have both in my opinion. Additionally, I would also like the chance to subvert other player purchases. Meaning when someone tries to purchase something via the BM I am informed by my friendly neighborhood representative and I'm given the option of paying a certain percentage more to stop the order BUT I dont get the resources. They somehow are "lost". There could also be tech oriented towards this ability as well so if you invest in it you get a chance of claiming a certain a
OK. Now I know I'm seriously ignorant on elevated fleet placement controls. I must have missed a tread somewhere on elevation controls. Can anyone point me to the right place?
I think the black market should have its own screen with different options such as bulk trades with a higher return and ships - not just your own but enemy ships as well. There should also be spy and intel options just to spice it up.
I have both the fighters and bombers set to 12. So far I like the results.
There is another thread about number of objects limitations. You are likely running into the same issue.
A nice list indeed. Some good stuff -good job.
I'm already on record for supporting the lanes for star to star travel. My solution for planet to planet jumps would simply be space stations and automated gun platforms and beacons. There could be tech in the tree that "destabilizes" subspace for a range around the station or beacon effectively pulling ships out of hyperspace en route to a planet.
I'm a hardcore SD loyalist. Shoot I buy software I never use (No time to really learn it and no artistic skill) as well as subscriptions just to show my love and I dont mind paying now for the game but I guess that is reasonable given my purchasing habits. What I'm getting at as a loyalist is that charging for the title now gives them the cash needed to develop the game without use of financial institutions that would more then likely jack up the cost considerably. And all loyalists w
I was under the impression that there was going to be a Death Star sort of ship in the game already - apparently there is not. With that said I must say I'm 100% behind this idea. I am also completely behind a fully customizable flagship. However since it is supposed to be the pride of the fleet I think its base stats should be at least 50% higher then the standard ship of that class. I also think that when it is built it should use what ever tech you have at that time; but if you wan
I'm all for the recycle yard. Hell it could even be a new building. If you build it you get say 60% or so of the materials back if not you only 25%. Each level you refine it your return increases. It is a good eco-friendly subsystem! I can sense some good marketing mileage out of this idea.
Yeah and the class name can be... [wait for it] Jihad Moreover the ships could have some damn cool names to strike deep seeded fear in the hearts and minds of the infidel err.. bad guys. I can see the recruitment posters now!
WC? OD? just curious WC = WinCustomize.com OD = Object Desktop (software) A couple other faces of Stardock.
I set up a mod projects forum for Sin on my domain if anyone needs a free full service home. You can go to the forum by clicking on the link.
It must have had "finest hour" crew members on board.
I'm not necessarily on board for this idea however if it were to happen there would almost certainly have to be critical points on each ship and one should be able to target them as well. I know I would always target engines for obvious reasons. Moreover whenever a ship explodes then any and all ships in the blast radius would have to take damage and the closer to the doomed ship the more. With that said given the current propensity for the game to group ships in an area tightly and if
Or the orbs could simply be remade to add to the visual feel and that would be good for all concerned.
I'm all for minor races. Shoot the big dogs need someone to push around before going at each others. What I would like to see if minor races are added is a chance that they will forum an alliance and attacking one is attacking all and they truly help each other. Then it would be like a proverbial fourth big dog from hell as an added bonus.
@Dracop - sorry brother, wrong thread. It is the link before this one.
Charting sounds like a good idea for a tech development feature maybe using gates. At any rate for me at the end of the day, lanes will always be a poor excuse for a fixed wormholes. I do however think they have an intrinsic use as star to star gateways for what its worth.
I think that caps suck. Hell I spent a fortune on my HPC rig just to be able to do crazy stuff like have 50k reactive objects on the screen at one time shooting at each other and to be able to zoom around like ghost while it is all going down in real-time. Dont try to rain on my parade because its all good.
The forum is here . The downloads section has a 2MB limit however I have the user thread attachment set to a higher amount. Sorry I'm no php person and my php guy bailed due to personal issues.
