Great work, SD. This beta feels and looks better, runs smoother than any finished game I've ever played. For the first time I find myself zooming in to study the planet I'm about to colonize, seen from the perspective of my fleet, because it looks so wonderful. The textures for the Yor are awesome too and combined with the new race specific tech trees, the game manages to draw me in as never before. I've been playing as Yor in this beta in a gigantic galaxy (I've just managed to snap out of it f

If you want it real, they all should have to go for a pee. People can't run around for centuries with a full blatter. Moreover, in line with GalCiv TA, every race should pee differently. Some wouldn't, but they can explode. Most races should cut their toe nails too or they would fall over them, making an invasion pretty difficult. Oh, and they have to get a haircut now and then, or they would accidentally invade the wrong planet. The Yor on the other hand would need to oil the

Hi, I'm with GalCiv from the very beginning and I bought everything since GC1. I always pre-ordered when possible. Same with SOSE. I even bought lots of stardock stuff (windows blinds, etc...) that normally I would never be interested in, because I trust Stardock. You've never betrayed that trust... Why? Because Stardock has the best attitude in the game industry. You make wonderfull enjoyable games. Every new update I think: "well, that's it. They can't do better than

Thanks Kryo, I can always count on you for an answer! Oh well, guess I was getting too much used to it with the DA and the Sins of a Solar Empire betas. I'll miss it, but I will survive. I just hope the game won't suffer from it, as I thought the betas were a great way to improve the game. Please, don't change to a 'normal' game company now, as it is the excell

Hi all, thanks for the great news. As a GalCiv addict I couldn't hear better news. A question I didn't saw answered (but I could be blind): We can pre-order, like I did with GalCiv II DA. That's clear. But will there be a beta like with DA? If I pre-order now, will I be able to play TA before the official release (although slightly flawed)? Please, say yes. And

Hehe, I'm playing it as I preordered the Beta (closed now, come back in a few months for the next beta). To me it feels like homeworld meets supreme commander. The first beta has only the human faction, but it's fun. To me its a rts. I don't buy the gimmick of a realtime 4x game. That feels like hyping the game as something new. Nice graphics. Could be good or fantastic when finished. Keep a watchfull eye on it! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/

Hi aliens, got the bright idea to install Vista basic home edition on my PC. Have problems ever since. It's slooooowwwws everything down (feels like driving with the handbrake on), the graphics went down the drain and the sound has issues too. But to top it all: there is no way I can start DA..., my all time favourite game. When I choose run application in StarDockCentral

Changing the resolution Changing the resolution in options results to the same error as with the movies. The game disappears for a while (you see open windows apps) then goes back to a black screen. You still can hear the music, but see only darkness. Muhahaha ! The resolution changes you made will work after you restart the game...

Thanks a lot, especially Bigshotweb, as this is the way to correct the problem , as I, stupid Alterian, found out after my post in another topic on this thread. The main problem was that I was searching in the technical section of GalCivII forum, then posted my problem through a link, and only then saw I was in the dark Avatar section where most people were discussing, errrr, the same problem. I hereby hit myself three times on my almost earthlike looking head and declare myself

Hi fellow star raiders,I bought the pre-order of dark avatar. I got a nice and friendly email with lots of info and my serial for the expansion.Sadly - or I must have been striken by a plasma cannon - I didn't get a download place. In Stardock Central I get my bought GalCiv II with a nice purchase button. Although I really looove GalCiv II, I won't buy it again and again, or I get a black hole in my bank account. Please save me or I send my fleet to your puny planet and will blast it out of my sp
