I've been having the same problem with Vista, and Diamond Theme (now, I tried the Think Green and stuck with those folders) when I choose to restore Aero Theme. UPDATE: Success! I clicked on restore the Aero Theme (I guess Luna for XP users) again and again even though it was set to that already and the icons were restored. Can other people please try it so we can see if it works for everybody? It seems that the application only restores some settings some of the time :

I think that most people who don't like Vista got burned by the crapware that OEMs install and effectively infect Vista to act like a zombie. I would recommend a clean install to see how Vista really works.

I remember when I upgraded from Win98 to XP, I sighed with big relief because my old computer was no longer crashing every ten minutes with a blue screen... I was actually afraid to turn on my pc and save anything on it 'cause the big ol' crashes would take all my data away with them. It was like a miracle for an application not to crash XP and just shut down without affecting the PC!

Vista is fine once you get over your fear of upgrading. (in my opinion as always) Windows 7 is not supposedly being released early. It's on the scheduled timetable. Vista was supposed to be released much earlier but got postponed and people got comfy with XP. Microsoft has always been releasing operating systems every 3 years (or around there); the only discrepancy was between XP and Vista (however, SP2 was a major Service Pack akin to what Apple does for their OS X when the next vers

I agree with Alfonse on some parts. However, a Bill of Rights for Gamers is certainly a positive step however many rights are in it. I saw it today on shelves in Zavvi. Looked good :) It even has a corner saying "Top of the Charts in the USA!" The screenshots at the back looked impressive but are not really representative of the view the gamer will be using all the time :P I guess marketing trumps usability at that level.

Lol, ok. But to be fair, there are features in 2007 that just aren't there in previous versions. Take referencing for example, it's just so much easier in 2007. I previous versions I think you had to buy an addon or another program like Endnote or Refworks. Now it's just there.

If you want to switch back to good old (really?) CRT screens you can probably use any resolution you want without blurryness. Unfortunately that would involve you exchaning screens all the time which is not optimal (to say the least:P)

Of course we have farming worlds: that's the basis of economy worlds. Step 1: Make one of your high classes planets go up to about 16-20 billion people and then biuld economy biuldings all over with the occasional morale building to keep them happy. Step 2: Rake in money. :)

Yes, usually one farm per world that you want to have a big population is enough, as when you research further down the farm tree the farm will produce more food and hence more people will be supported. Do not even think of planting a farm on the capital world however as the initial colony is already providing tons of food :P A farm would inundate your people and you won't be able to keep them happy (except if you keep adding morale biuldings)
