For me its not hard to see why Cottons OS restarts - when the maps get cluttered on Galciv II its processor and memory requirements are huge (with v1.0 at least).. If the cpu load is high then the increased heat may force a restart. I have a similar experience although not as bad. I can play oblivion or Battlefield 2 with max settings and AA/AF or HDR and I never experience bad frame rates or 1 single crash in hours of play (my pc is quite modern). Yet Galciv II does occasionally slow down

I suggest there is a prompt on future patches before installation suggesting that users will need an internet connection in order to continue to use the software afterwards. Imagine installing an XP service pack and you could no longer use your computer without instant activation (registration)! Btw XP can be activated over the telephone. It takes around 2-3 minutes. Whats with having to activate a patch? I can't think of any other games that do this. I thought that stardock were trying to make things more convenient for the user by e.g not having the game needing the cd in the drive to play. I can't play the game anymore because I don't have an internet connection to activate. I looked through 100 hundred comments and couldnt see this mentoined, apologies if i missed it: I think the galactic news screen could use some improvement. it shouldnt be called a 'news' screen unless it shows things of interest that you might not be aware of such as the fact that 2 civilizations have just gone to war. Its good to keep track of things youve just made and destroyed etc so maybe this should type of info should have a separate scree
