If you never reasearch UT noone will ever declare war on you? As in noone will ever attack you? If that's true doesn't that mean an automatic tech or influence victory? That's pretty cheese. The most realistic fix would be that the AI will attack you to declare war and theres no way to negotiate peace without UT. Also the first UP meeting should include all races
agreed also if you trade laser then laser II you should get the same exact money as if you just trade laser II. As in: once they have laser, laser II becomes less valuable by exactly how much they paid for Laser. But they should still value techs with intrensic bonuses like Impule drive. (+10 base speed if I remeber right)
because votes in the UP are from your accumulated influence every turn. They still have all their influence points (the points you can trade for in diplomacy) when you concure them they stop generating more and will slowly lose their % of votes because everyone else keeps growing. Incedentally desprate civilizations on the brink of annialation will trade all their influence for a song.
Please think about this seriously: What is cloaking? It is a device that lets you attack your opponents first and remain undetectable from them deep within their territory. Cloaking as good as exists in the game already. Just put enough engines on a ship that it can attack from outside the enemies vision radius and enough sensors so that it can always know where the enemy is and what the sensor radius probably is. Cloaking would not add a significant new dynamic to the g
wow... the action takes a really long time to start in your games... What difficulty do you play on? Maybe you should just research tech victory insead of weapons tech and win without firing a shot if your able to keep the galaxy stable that long.
I would really like if better farms didn't increase max pop at all but the better ones increased pop growth. Right now I often avoid improved farms because they cause too much trouble. Also I think farms and entertainment should both give influence because the make the planet more interesting to visit. Better farms means more exotic and interesting foods. I would not give economic bonuses to farms, that's what they are for already. And influence buildings don't really ne
Try playing without them in your galaxy and see how it goes. Also they aren't your slaves, they died to the last Torian defending their worlds. Or at least all the tax payers died...
all the things that increase influence are multipliers. the thing they multiply is based on population. So population is a huge huge part of influence. Remeber that more people means unhappy people so dedicate some room to moral buildings too.
Having half the galaxy as strong allies is pretty powerful. You obviously favor a strong military and research, it makes sense you like evil and neutral. I like diplomacy.
1) Money comes from people so to make a cash powerhouse planet build money buildings and then farms when the pop is close to the max. Then you have to build happieness buildings cause higher populations get really unhappy. Also I think most people like to start off a new collony with all the factories they plan to build there ever, then go from there. Factories let you build other buildings faster so they are a great place to start. But a cash powe
an influence starbase (not a starbase mining an influence resourse) creats its own small bubble of influence which it can enhance with its moduales. Actually all starbasses produce this but only an influence base can enhance it. I don't know why youd bother because a influence base near your planets or enemy would be more helpful for cultural domination. I guess itd easily make your borders bigger which would increase your tourism revenue.
give the "initial colony" building a bigger IP bonus. Every colony has exactly one so bam, flat IP bonus. Modifiy the home world building too if you want.
I really should do that... I mean if im going to war might as well get a little bonus relation by claiming its to help, so and so, out.
actually I think there should be automatic free migration put into the game, so that excess pop growth is not wasted, these starving people would become refugess, they move to some other planet in your empire and the moral there goes into the toilet.
you lied to me
1) It's a glorified High score list 2) So you can track your ligitment wins online to show off 3) So you can join your friends/ make new friends, who play the game and pool your coolness together for greater showing off power. * 4) They exist in the potential quantem space of your kitchen in a currently unbaked state. *Note that I have not actually joined an empire nor submitted any meteverse wins yet. Also all the "cool"
escorts are mostly so you cant pop transports with an "raider" cargo hold. big engines, sensors and one attack
I like the idea of stealth or masking tech modules that reduces range that an enemy can detect you. However the AI currently already has a big problem keeping itself informed. I am sure it will soon start using Cargo hulls with big engines and sensors but the whole manuvering, focusing forces, and keeping an eye on the opponent it still a big challenge for the AI without even trowing in cloaking. I garunetee if cloaking got introduced soon
I super duper want this, and others have suggested it too. For now though, you can save some time, the up down arrows go by 10s and you can type a number if you want to go up like 300 to see if it changes. I agree though, very annoying currently
ditching a military resouce base can't be a good idea during a war no matter what. But 1.1 is supposed to improve the AI's use of starbases, so here's hoping.
ugg.. I am so tempted to buy Oblivion, but I barly have time to play GCII on the weekends... I am glad I don't have kids yet. You guys are making it really hard for me to stay disiplined about working out. I wonder if i could get a tablet PC and play GalCiv while on the eliptical machine.... nah, it'd never work.
There is one Galatic wonder which prevents defections
your space stations are not in orbit, they are a parsec away. That's pretty far. Space station can't do anything offensive, only defend itself from assult. as for the troop ships... I don't know. Sometimes if you save and load a game some glitchs will clear up.
I've had this problem in 1.0X. You have a group that you move then select a different ship or group. Somehow the old ships stay sleected and go to the new destination with the new ones. You jst have to carfully make sure your old ships get unseleced after moving, it frusterates me too.
