one strategy I read about which I want to try is build ships that can wipe out the offending SBs and place them next to them. Then find an AI willing to except the gift ships in exchange for declaring war. It sounded fun when I read it so I got to try it ...

I think I remember that 1.6 fixes a bug where a "ship can go out of bounds on rare occasions" but they decided to stick them in the bottom corner since they weren't sure what caused it.
Most of the changes that keep getting mentioned can be done by modding the starbase in GC2Ships.xml to use a different hull (it uses large or huge) and then making that hull (just copy the huge and change the hp/sensors/etc). Personally I want to see 1. The ability to have a module increase a starbase's sphere of influence. 2. The ability to have multiple things on starbase modules, currently they are [starbaseability]SomeAbility[/starbaseability] [StarbaseAbilityValue]Some
there is a hard cap of 12 routes . Even if you add more through modding the techtree, 12 is still the max.
I usually start planets with 2 or 3 economic buildings and social focus, the colonies are usually close to supporting themselves by the time the buildings are finished (5-20 turns usually)
not sure about the production rate but I immagine it's because your playing on a tiny map. Minor races usually start with a pretty nice colony and don't really go anywhere so wind up being able to spend a lot on nothing much of anything. If you aren't too far along with production then they could easily have quite a bit more than you (although the number seems high enough to be fishy) With regards to the freighter thing... freighters under player/ai control are full sized and normal,
find their .customracexml file (my documents/my games/darkavatar/iconian.customracexml or something similar at least in vista) and delete it.
you can use the core ships just upgrade their weapons shields and engines and rename them the simpliest way is to add a number behind the name of the core ship or if you want you can download ship designs out of the library If I use the core ships only will the AI build ships or use the core ships? both
*- I left it out of the original post and can't edit it now . There is a line of buildings (naval shipyard, enhanced naval shipyard, advanced naval shipyard) unlocked by the logistics tree that trades manufacturing capacity (% of industry for the planet) for a slight +starship bonus (% of HP/Weapon damage of ships) for ships built on the planet with them. You can build up to 4 per world. <div clas
The mod is designed for gigantic galaxies, it works pretty well on large as well but going too far down in size winds up not working too well because of a lot of the changes. There were a few things I tried to accomplish with the mod. The first point was to adjust the game to the larger maps, both to make them feel large and to make some of the less useful things more useful. The second point was to eliminate some of the cheeze involved with tech trading, this was done by making som
Try demanding small things each turn (i.e. 50-100bc or whatever they will give in to). Build more influence starbases next to his planets

some of the moons around jupiter and saturn are as far away as the earth is from the sun are you saying that those two planets have more pull than the sun at the moment i don't know of any moons with their own moons i was thinking moonlet but it lacks something S/1999 J 1 (Callirrhoe) The seventeenth and outermost moon; S/1999 J 1 is the smallest-k
Yea, I love all the new added features. Not sure what's so complex. The new planet types add a *necessary* complexity and spies are fairly simple to understand. Aside from that...maybe it's the asteroid fields? You can turn those off, but really they just provide bonus production points. The new planet types are nice, but I dislike the fact that there is no option for how common they are. I wound up making q
And in the lightyears and lightyears that make up space, it would be a little harder to protect a border in space than a border in anything on Civ. Really, you would be able to fly right through a space 'border' because maintaining such a thing would be astronomically difficult. That's true, but when I see an unarmed unarmored colony ship with 500,000 people on it and a flimsy 1hp hull... a massive warship shoul
satellite, planetoid (maybe), asteroid, or moon. I don't think a moon (moon1) could really have a moon (moon2) though, the planet's gravity would gobble up moon1's moon2 and steal it I think.
I'm pretty sure that group is a seperate & different tag from category. I don't think that DL had groups but DA does. Lets see if this works or if it makes a lot of spam: Diplomatic Relations 100 Enables us to set up embassies with other civilizations. The trick to having good relations with a
zen)theStormWeaver This is my other two forms, they are pretty self explanatory: I notice you don't seem to have a box for the Group tag the techtree uses to group techs together (i.e. laser 1 2 3 4 5 are all in the Laser group)
Just curious, what complexities bother you?
Large scale ground assault troops aren't exactly that important when compared to godlike powers of turning a city off, causing earthquakes, destroying solarsystems, and depopulating planets. this only works on people who don't know that their not gods it wouldn't even slow down the klingons only ground troops will Stun the entire city would stun Kling
in the enterprise episode where the xendy attack earth adm. forest asks the cap. if he will be comfortable with the military on board and he answers he has no problem with non star fleet personal so as i said in another post when the klingons declare war on the federation, or anyone else they end up fighting two military style groups not one S

Uhh.... I see a lot more discussion, questions, and conversation than complaints here to be honest. Plus I imagine a lot of people who are here regularly post from W - O - R - K.
