Would it be possible to have a setting the player can manipulate, possibly for each AI, that would manipulate the 'togetherness' or isolationism? Thats just a dream though =P Looks like this AI overhaul has real potential!! And never stop these little reports, so soo intereasting.

One thing you may do is to get the strongest powers involved in your initial conflict, overproduce alot of ships at the start, make sure your ships are technological superior and try to develop 'hero' ships, keep a cache of tech and money to payoff your second attackers.

Lets just have all races be EXACTLY the same with only the name and portrait being different. It seems that's what some of these people want. Now where did any of us say that? We just said that there already were differences and that you're just ignoring them if you say there aren't.

I dunno I've made large hulls that stretch the limits of the creation screen and they never did that.

It is not enough that the AI is different because the human player as we all know does not have any AI thus creating an inbalance. There must be an incentive for the player to pick other races than the Drath, but currently there are none as far as I can see (because the Drath start out with so many and so big 'locked' boni). </T

I think a big part about why PA brought in so many people is because A) its free to read their opinions, see ads on their site B) Alot of gamers trust their opinions C) A & B combined with the amount of traffic their site gets. Personally I tend not to buy videogame magazines because I'm not willing to spend the 10 bucks they cost (especially when I can get similar info and demos for free online), even when I do tend to buy them I tend to ta

I was preparing for a massive invasion from the Drengin and upgraded all my ships. Problem was I upgraded them all into colony versions with 0 attack and 0 defense that I had gotten from a ship pack. I of course upgraded them all to their rightful stats the next turn but ooo did that put me in the hole.

Personally I like them. When I'm flipping through a mag and see something intereasting, usually a gameplay example i'll stop and read it. I especially like ads that do that because (so sue me) they'e usually more graphically appealing/intereasting. My only advice is allow them to pull it out and use it as a poster.
