I sent a PM to Frogboy about it even before I got the game installed last night. I assumed it wasn't worth a full topic (and the dangers inherent to any EULA topic) to point out. But since it's out there, may I suggest a company trip to the parking lot and assaulting the legal department with day old bagels? It does't have to be linked to this issue either, make it a monthy event.[e digicons]:D[/e]

Probably a result of a relatively minor mutation. Maybe not even that. Genetic codes are full of stuff that doesn't get used, but it only takes a minor gene expression error to cause something like this, or the occasional human tail. The human genetic code is about 99% identical to that of chimps. It's a rare genetic condition, but occasionally people grow full coats of fur. I don't think I've ever seen an official study of it, but I imagine a snake's genome is at least as similar to

Mind Control Center. It will immediately flip all succeptable planets on the first turn they are eligible to flip, rather than waiting for the random number generator to flip it whenever it feels like doing so. In DL/DA this ability was broken, so it gave 100% econ bonus (about the same as three fully mined econ bases, not a straight doubling). It also reduced the odds of planets flipping by a factor of about 10. A few notes: DO NOT attempt this with the Thalans, as they do not have t
Are you sure this "Research Capitol" or "Political Capitol" being placed on resource tiles works in "Twilight of Anor"?
The research capitol does not benefit from a bonus tile. To my knowledge it has not ever done so in any version of the game. The political capital can benefit from either morale or influence bonus tiles.

I do somewhat more. I build the reeducation center on an obcenely high research planet (current game this planet has a 700% bonus and my tech capital), then sell it to an AI to further the tech stealing potential. That, and whenever possible I sell or outright gift whatever tech the AIs are researching, until they start researching something I can't. This is the only practical way I've found to encourage the AI to research stuff that is normally low on their priority list, such as K

None in actual combat. They do help with keeping tabs on where the Dreadlord ships are so you can pick off the transports and evade the heavy stuff, though. Same with engines, no effect on combat, but they let you determine when and where combat will take place. Often you can identify which ship a Dreadlord ship is chasing and lead it all around the map without ever being attacked, if you have enough speed and range to stay ahead of them.

You may want to consider making a bunch of ship classes that are the same, then using the global commands to switch production between them every few turns. Switch from building Blank 03 to Blank 04 once you've built a hundred or so. Then when most of them have made it to the rally point, you can mass upgrade the Blank 03 model. Of course, by then you might be building Blank 15 model ships, but it would help some. This method might also leave you with some unconverted ships mixed in with the

Actually, I see AIs going broke fairly often even at Suicidal, where they get an econ bonus big enough to make colonies break even at about half a billion people. Of course, my trading IP for all their BCs every four turns might have something to do with it [e digicons]*_*[/e] Minor civs tend to get it worst, but I've seen major civs go 12+ turns with negative bc balances.

The Jupiter Trojans alone are thought to be as numerous as the belt asteroids, and they think Neptune's Trojans to be 10x that number. These groups are much farther away fr

If I'm understanding their mechanics correctly, the balance is that while the channeler is the source of essence, the empire he manages will be the source of the mana he needs to use that essense. A channeler that goes Gandalf and starts wading into his enemies risks having his empire taken behind him, and running out of gas before he gets to the enemy capital.

It would waste quite a bit. I don't recall exactly how much it generates, but the original colony building generates at least as much research as a medium-high end research structure (maybe 10?). Spread over your entire empire, that's a lot of money getting spent, so unless you have scores of planets you need to upgrade it's definitely not worth screwing with your sliders. And yes, social would go down on all planets, with or without research structures. All factory output w
Sorry, but you're wrong. I could say, following that same logic, that US is intentionally harbouring pedophiles and neo-nacis, but the truth is simply that US is acting in accordance with its own law. Same with Sweden. Their laws are different than yours, and I would dare say, far more advanced when it comes to civil justice and customer rights protection. Sweden is not "intending to undermine US copyright law", no more than US is "intending to create a naci-pedophile state"

At zero research, no. This was assuming you were using a split spend, not all factory. At that point all they can give you is the build credit. You will need to do the math on a per planet basis to see if the saved money from the build credit, which can still be considerable.
