I would love for Ironclad to do automatic matchmaking for people searching for certain types of games. For example, I prefer 1v1 games. I find them a ton of fun. Yet it seems like it's really hard to catch a game before it's full, and I'm not sure that when I host a game that people can actually join it. So it would be very nice to be able to do something like in Command & Conquer Generals where you just click autojoin and it matches you up with another person looking for the

The problem with having a warning like that (and I get it every time as well), is that the warning becomes superfluous and pointless. The warning should only come up if you can't actually host a game. Otherwise, how am I to know whether the warning is right or not?
Planets/asteroids should not be colonizable for a # of minutes after they have been destroyed. That # should be 1 minute X the infrastructure level of the planet at the time it was destroyed. Thus, if it was an asteroid with a single level of upgrade for the infra, it would be 2 minutes until it could be colonized. For a large terran planet that has been fully upgraded infra (4 levels + the starting level), you'd have to wait 5 minutes before it could be colonized. Conversely, if you
Here's hoping some of the best parts about SOTS mentioned above make themselves into SOSE 2. Tracking turrets. The ability to customize the ships you want to build based on the technologies you've researched, which you can then queue at your construction facilities (perhaps limited to 5-8 "frigate" and 5 "dreadnought" types at a time). Randomized technologies. Many races to choose from, each with their own advantages (possibly customizable ala Master of Orion). Defensive installatio
Very positive review, although it didn't provide a lot of meat about the game. I definitely agree with the reviewer though. I work in an industry where I absolutely need my sleep in order to think on my feet the next day, and yet I still find myself staying up until 4-6 AM playing this game. It was a severe test of my will last night to go to bed at 3 AM.
Yeah, the Death Star should be very do-able. Build it as the final military research (ala the giant cannons that the various races can build in Sins. Make it move VERY slowly in both tactical and warp transit. And make it visible by everybody across the map. Then, give it a weapon with a massive charge-up (a special attack) that requires a full charge (say, 300/300) before firing. It destroys a planet in one shot. Not sure if this can be modded or not, but would be sweet to turn any planet
BTW, very glad you did this. I tried deleting a few research centers last night to see if I would retain that research, and was very pleased to see I did not. Kudos.
