Thanks for the file contents. I appreciate it. As for the semantics, the modification was inadvertent, definition number 2 for "unwitting." I opened the file to see what was inside, and my cat promptly decided to walk on my keyboard, making all kinds of erroneous characters in the file. When I closed the file, I unwittingly hit "yes" to save instead of "no." So, as for your semantics argument, there was no need to be an arse about it. Thanks again for the help.

I unwittingly modified my PlanetDescriptions.xml file. I have no idea how to restore it to its original state. Can someone please give some advice, or better yet, the original file so my planets don't look like complete disasters. Thanks.
This "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe" cheat works fine for me.
Looks Fantastic. Keep up the wonderful work. It would be extra special nice to have updated instructions as well, taking into account the new mod directory. I can only get partial ship results.
Me likey!
Looking back at the autosave just before the crash, it looks like there were 4.
Sorry. Meant to post this in bug reports.

My population just hit 500 billion and I'm just stating 2227. No racial modifiers, and I just built the aphrodisiac achievement. I think I may have gotten a couple +1% bonuses from exploring anomalies as my pop growth number reads 53%, including 50% for the aphrodisiac. It just doesn;t feel right. And my taxes are crap. I make approximately 2500 per turn and spend all of it. Am upgrading to banks on most planets, but my taxation is crap
Population growth is supposed to have been dramatically reduced in the latest beta. 3% per turn is the base growth rate. Based on this, after a full year (52 turns) population should have grown by ~438% (1.03 to the 52nd power). Which means a 5 billion person homeworld should be translate to no more than a 30 billion population galaxy. This ignores no growth on colony ships, etc... Why then, after 1 year of gameplay, with no popula

So, if you have any sort of defence, you get all the addative starbase defensive bonuses. And if you have any sort of attack, you get the addative starbase offensive bonuses. Bingo. 1 attack point in any category is sufficient to gain all offensive ship assist bonuses. <b
Any idea about which program to use for manualy editing the shipclass files? If you're talking about the xml files, those can be edited in any text editor. Notepad, wordpad, etc....
I've never had as good an individual planet, but I colonized a system that was drop dead the best system I've ever seen. 5 habitable planets. Class 14, 17, 17, 19, and 26. The Class 14 planet had a precursor mine (700%) and all the other planets had a 300% mine along with at least one 300% research tile. I was 9th of 10 races in power at the time and in a horrible war with the Yor, who were devastating me. I was down to two planets when I made my discovery. Immediately bought colony ships,
The game doesn;t freeze when end-turn is hit. When it does not advance to the next turn, it means that you have a ship set on autopilot who has reached its destination with movement points still left. If you hit the "find" button, you'll be sent ot that ship and when it completes movement (assuming no other auto ships have moves left) the turn will commence properly.
Its still a ship, but a ship in orbit combined with a military starbase outfitted with the ship assist modules can be quite formidable.
I'm trying to set up a good system of trade routes and make some monmey with them. However, even in a huge galaxy with routes from one side to another, my traderoutes never make more than 6-7 BC per turn. All the ai routes make the same. What do I need to do to get some lucrative trade routes going?
'Planet quality bonus'- Basically the same questions (though its pretty obvious that this one is just on that planet.) When you hover your pointer over a planet, its class is revealed. When you get a planet quality bonus, this base planet class is increased by the given %. Example. You find a class
I still cannot scroll down in the 'Description' portion of a planet's tile. Not the building, but the tile itself (bonuses, etc.) This appears to be a boundbox problem. If you hover over the down arrow key and move slightly to the right and down, you can move the description down in the text box. I
I have contacted the appropriate people from Paradox and informed them of the problem. Please keep in mind that Paradox is a Swedish company and due to the date (Friday) and the time difference (6 hours), it is unlikely that there will be a solution before Monday at the earliest. I can't speak for Paradox, but they have a good reputation for doing well by the customers. I don't know what kind of contact Stardock has with the peop
