Imagine todays 300mb+ monster games - 470 "Frizbee Floppys"
That most assuredly would have burned out the Duodisk on my Apple IIe. Plus, I probably would have had to stay up for a week straight just to get it loaded. Personally, I don't give a crap about Political Machine. It's not my kind of game. However, I understand that business is business, and this one is as cutthroat as any. So, I don't mind taking a back seat to SD's new product if it means the

I had a weird thing happen in a game with a terror star. I used it twice on the Yor and then it wouldn't work any more. In fact, the pointer didn't even recognize it as an object. It was still displayed, but it was as if it wasn't even there. Luckily, I had a spare :HOT:

Ok, I don't know if anyone else has had this issue. It has been in the game since the original Gal Civ II, but seems to have gotten worse in ToA. Any time I try to upgrade a starbase of any kind with a fleet of constructors, I have to do it twice. The first time the fleet reaches the starbase, I get the popup window asking me what upgrades I want to make, and when I accept the first one, the window goes away and my fleet sits on top of the starbase. What
"the largest warfaring warship" or something is what it says on the movie. Warfaring? What the hell is "warfaring"? Space-faring, I think, is what they wanted to say.
Yes, not only does this alliterate in a clumsy manner, but "warfaring" is not even an actual word in the English language. "Warfare" is, "warfaring" is not. I think the easiest change would be to just drop the "warfaring" and call it "the largest warship". Adding a second adjective to that phrase wou

I constantly zoom in and out, depending on whether I want to look at something or find something. Generally speaking, I zoom in just enough to see ship outlines and planet names. I'll zoom out to find a starbase or to check on influence borders, or to see how close enemy ships are to my empire. I rarely zoom in close enough so that one ship or fleet fills the screen, unless I want to looke at the details of a starbase or something like that. I do love watching the ship combat, though.

Does selecting Luck as one of the race config bonuses actually do anything? I know in the past, it used to make it more likely for defections to go your way, or for surrenders to go your way, but it seems to me that it no longer makes any difference in the game, especially in TA.
it would have been nice if you had been involved in writing some of the dialogues
I would have relished the chance at that! I'm sure I could have offered an excellent sarcastic flavor to some of them. I did send in typos I discovered during the beta testing. I think it's probably what CommanderGizmo said..a lack of intel. As the game goes on, I see less and less of those types of popups.

Ok, I do like the new dialog flavor in TA, except for one annoying issue. What is with the AI bragging about the fact that it is researching the most banal technologies?? When I have particle beam III and medium scale building, do I care that someone has advanced their empire by researching Laser I? "The glory of our race continues...we are now researching Xeno Farming." I am shivering at the prospect of Altarian kumquats. Can't we stifle this until they reach
I could easily drag and drop the most-used functions to a single toolbar
That was another thing I didn't like about the upgrade..it seems much less intuitive to customize the ribbon/tool bar area. You have to find the options area, and not every function has its own icon any more (of the ones I used previously).
You could just not upgrade...
Sometimes, it's not your decision if you work in an office. In any case, the ribbon is there to make Office (Excel in my case, not Word) forward (Vista) compatible, not backward (XP) compatible. Any power user of Microsoft products should know by now that Microsoft is always promoting the next big thing, not the last big thing. I wasn't a fan of the ribbon, either, when I was first upgraded to Excel 2007 (been a user since 1995), and
I just have one thing I'd like changed right away. The planetary assault screen. I might be flamed, but I think I liked the older version better than the TA one. The new one doesn't really do anything for me. I'm sorry, and don't mean to offend, but the new screen is boring. There is very little going on to see other than the colored bar graphs. I liked seeing the little soldiers and war machines duking it out. I kinda miss that.
I have to agree on this point. The new sc

When does this appear? I was playing a game today, and this module only appeared sporadically, and not on all my starbases (I upgrade them all to the same level before upgrading them to the next level). Also, if it became available and I did not purchase it right away, it was no longer available the next time I upgraded my starbase, so what's the deal with this item? Is it not fully implemented yet?
The problem isn't that they make it possible to kill, or even that they make it easier to kill; its that they are way to prone to stupid accidents causing accidental deaths.
This is due to a lack of respect for the firearm. The amount of "training" it would take to avoid accidents is literally minutes. As someone who grew up in a house that contained firearms, it is truly difficult to understand why a prospective owner wouldn't take the necessary minimal precautions to
Another thing about all rich people is that they all stereo type. They make me sick. If I had my way, I'd build some sort of...place to put them all in. Some sort of way to provide a final...I dunno some sort of solution to the rich people question because they're all the same. Every rich person is stuck up, bigoted and just plain corrupt
There is a place like this...it's called Hollywood.

So essentially you're saying that the ships that used to automatically appear in the queue after achieving certain technologies will no longer do that? Just trying to get clarity on the issue.
I highly recommend you design your own ships for this. You don't have to create your own look for them, but there are templates you can use in the ship designer. You don't need to grab the stock ships first, they're all sitting in the template list as well.
Ok, but that's not my point. The point is that a lot of times, I like to build up numbers of the stock ships, then upgrade their weapons and defenses in groups. This way I get a lot of cheap ships early in the game,

Because sometimes I like to take the stock ships and upgrade them with better weapons and defenses. In all honesty, the stock ships are much nicer looking than anything I can come up with. So, I like to just make them more functional.
