I like SR2 so far, but I'm really bad at it. When I don't DIAF during combat, I run out of cash. heh.

Another way is to have your planets build the bare hull and use your money to upgrade to full fighting configuration. Upgrades cost far less than a straight purchase of the ship. I really like that technique. I fill the empty hulls with engines and life support so that they can scoot quickly to trouble areas, then upgrade based on the mix of weapons a
There's a bug that causes your income to be reduced by about 30% if you keep your treasury above about 20K. Umm, I think that's "works as designed" and not a bug.
I am scared by the new Microsoft commercials with the people dancing all funky. You should be. That commercial promotes the "Skinny People With Eating Disorders Are Cool" toxic meme. One of my least favorite, most cringeworthy commercial is the one where the folksinger with an acoustic guitar volunteers to provide sappy background music to so
In order to join the ommg, I suppose one must forgo the use of punctuation, spelling, capitalization and grammar in favor of bellowing in leetspeak, right? Utterly charming.
If you're the Influence leader but not the Economic leader, you can vote yourself a nice stipend from that event. I've had civs vote "yes" under other circumstances, though. Perhaps it has something to do with civilization popularity.
Of course bugs need to be fixed. Adding an item to the build list does not correctly refresh the display. And it's not merely "two mouse clicks of my time" it's multiplied by every player of the game, or worse, giving incorrect information to players who don't realize it's a bug and trust what they see on the screen. If you apply your logic to game design, they might as well layoff a dev or two to save money from fixing those pesky bugs while they're at it. Not a good choice for any serious game
The build time is wrong when first placing an improvement on the production queue. You have to toggle one of the three focus buttons to get it to display an accurate number of weeks on the production queue. This happens both when there is no initial focus set and when there is a focus set. Bug first reported at v1.31, still happens with v1.4x. <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/
That sounds like a great premise for a science fiction horror story. As for surplus loaded colony ships, I also like to upgrade them to Transports. Keep them as colonies until you're almost at the target enemy planet (oh, look, we're just a harmless luxury cruise ship with Buzz Lightyear as our celebrity guest) then the "colonists" put on their military uniforms and attack when the ship upgrades. heh.
By the way, is there going to be an Official 1.4x Bug Report Thread, or should we just continue to post here instead?
The game appears to need another English translation edit pass. There are a lot of ESL-isms in the text of the game.
The bug I reported in Reply #72 has not been fixed in v1.4x.
If you toggle one of the focuses (military, social or research) the build time should then display properly; I don't know if that's been posted as an official bug, though.
What about Auto-Retreat?
Can you even do that since the value of AI planets was boosted so high in recent upgrades? Doesn't seem too likely.
Looks like I'll have to dive into more detail about my problem with not being able to attack minor races and then file a bug report.
It bothers me that I can't just attack minor races, but my AI opponants can.
As for gifting planets, they're not worth nearly as much as they were in earlier versions, unless you want to trade your entire civilization for one planet of theirs.
Being able to download GCII immediately instead of trundling to a brick and mortar store in meatspace is like Homer Simpson wanting to buy a gun and finding out there's a cooloff waiting period: "But I'm angry NOW!" heh.
Another thing I've noticed is that sometimes the range changes by .1 after I upgrade engines in a design without touching the life support at all. Some kind of rounding error, perhaps.
It would be great if a group of auto-explorers would pick different spread-out areas to explore, to prevent the scoutship conga line effect.
It is dangerous to attempt to engage in reasoned dialogue with religious fanatics.
I've seen this issue in other fullscreen games where the fix was to adjust the monitor's refresh rate.
Ronald Reagan was a honorary member of the Imperial Council of the Shrine.
They're not gods, after all. It's blasphemy I tell you!! How can you say such a thing about the mighty devs? I'm allowed to say that because I used to be a dev for typesetting software (a thankless task). heh.
