It could be that your buddy in London giving a lot of taxes might receive more money from the state/crown when he retires than you will... At the end, it balances out... anyway, we are all living in good conditions and should be happy about it Wrong: he says most of their money goes to "social programs" to suport the millions of people "on th

So, GENIUSES....gas prices have dropped signifigantly as of late. Does that mean that Georgie and friends decided to not make money for a while? Rhetorical tools....

Are you confusing Paladin Tanks from C&C: Generals with real tanks? Because The M1 Abrams doesn't have anti-missile lasers (much as we'd love to mount them), and the real Paladin Tank is a 'mobile gun' - an artillery piece. OMG he's talking about lazer DESIGNATORS, which very common, both hand-held and vehicle mounted.

I love it when people on this site act like they are scientists, lasers and beams, DON'T EXIST ( well exept for laser pointers and such), it all started with Star Trek and Star Wars, and now people act like its reality, it's all shiny looking special effects in movies and games meant to make people look at them and say "oooh pretty". Actually, l

Bush is both in the oil business and is the president of America, do you really think that it's just coincidence that gas prices are up? This is simple rhetoric...unproductive.

Actually, Brazil is around 85% non-fossil fuel. Even so, they make an impressive model. However, their situation is unique in that they have a lot of useable land with a relatively low population. That makes renewable fuels a more viable option for them. In any case, your point is valid, it *does* take a government effort. As far as the US goes, that's not going to happen

That bug has been taken care of in 1.3 b3, which was released yesterday. Or, is that the 'latest beta' you were speaking of? I had the problem too, but it did not happen after I updated to beta 3. Ah ,thanks, Moose.

Latest beta: This was also happening in non-meta games: When I start a new game, when I get to the page where you set the AI level, the Terrans are ALWAYS set to Dunce, whether I set the overall dif. to challenging or whatever. SO I click on the Terrans and set them to Bright to match the others. Now that I'm in the game I see the Terrans only have 3 planets 3 years into the game. I thought this was fixed?

In point of fact, any "real" battles in space are likely to involve only capital ships. What a small one man fighter can do, a cheaper torpedo can do better. Evasive maneuvers? Program in a series (say 100) different thruster combinations, and have the torpedo computer pick some at random. What a smaller ship can do (agility?), can be countered with computer control
