Dread Lord: Apocalypse mission help needed! in Game Talk GalCiv2 Forums

I'm on the Apocalypse mission (regular difficulty) and contrary to the mission instructions I did not attack early. I've researched the entire research tree and I have four other team members who have also researched the entire tree (through trading we all have every technology). I installed the game on this machine last night (running on an external hard drive) and it worked fine late into the night. Today, the first symptom I noticed was that when I tried to open the game the video wouldn't start, or the game would crash. I ran Stardock and got some beta update. My problem seems to be that I havve not officially installed the game on the laptop I am trying to play the game on from an external hard drive. I figured out how to get the program activated on this computer, but the game crashes after I hit "Next" on the screen where I select the galaxy size and game options (the game crashes out to desktop). The debug file looks as if it is looking for files and not finding them in the right place. I copied

PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE ANSWER, TOO! I am stuck again and again and again trying to download the movie pack. IT WON'T RESUME. 24 hours I've been trying, 12 with non-beta StarDock Central, 12 with the beta. Restart, restart, restart, restart. HELP! I've tried California, Chicago, and '4' (whatever server that is), all the same.

I have been unable to get the movies section to download, even with the beta. I can say this . . . the download is *not* resuming. I am getting an extraction error (which I believe is being caused by a disruption in the download then it tries to extract a partial file and fails), after which the download starts over, every time. I can't seem to get all 550 MB downloaded without such an error. I am trying now with the beta StarDock Central, but it k
