The idea is excellent! I also like the idea of evacuating people from the planets. If it goes a step further, it could also cause a unification of the races so every race could help evacuate and get rid of the black hole, all wars would cease until the problem had been solved. (Or something like it)

I've played a few games now of DA, x2 of them as the Korath Clan. I've believe the germ warfare leading to the spore ship is a bit too easy to get straight off the bat. Unless the AI is set to a vey high level it is quite easy to wipe the floor with one spore ship. I think the Korath should definitely have this technology, however, what if it was placed after Terraforming (or at the end of another line of research), beef up the research costs and have the spore ship available further

Tov, I've downloaded and played with this mod. I love it! I have noticed that once you say "Yes" to protect the starbase in the UP issue, the AI of a race with which you are at war will send ships to the starbase and just sit there. Then during each turn the screen will jump to every starbase you have with enemy ships just sitting their and each screen jump can last up to 30 seconds. This produces a lag of course and can become very anoying. I don't know

The idea has merrit Borg999. Usually when spys do their stuff they have a specific outcome or objective in mind. The idea could work really well. If you have a well trained spy who has managed to infiltrate a race for a sustained period of time, they would have a higher probability of success. If you had not put in the research or the funds and the spy was relatively new, their chance of success would be lower. It could be based on ramdom and set factors within the AI parameters.

I assume from all I have read that spying is going to be greatly enhanced in DA, and I'm really looking forward to this. However, just some thoughts! You normally start getting tech information once you've maxed out your spying spending. What if you started getting tech information even at the low, medium and high levels? The AI could determine where you are in the game and only give you a tech level that is one level ahead of you. Then as you reach higher levels you can get more w

Here's some strategies that I find work quite well. (This is by no means perfect) Research at least up to warp drive imediately. (To do this I reduce the military slider to 0 social to about 15 and research to 85. My taxes stay at around 20% giving me a high morale and social building keep at 100% as long as you can. As long as you don't go past the -500bc On my home planet I buy a money building, get the starport, and x3 factories (just (to start) I send my colony

I found that you can ally, especially with those race that feel it would be of benifit to ally with you. to do this though you have to be strong in many areas. In my last game I had three allys but all were far weaker than I while the races that were closer to me in power, distribution, trade, and military would only remain friendly.

It all sounds really good! Are you going to bring out a completed version or is there going to be a beta for us to test? And from the looks of the alignments, there are going to be twelve races. Does this mean we can play against twelve if we have our own custom race. (Ignor this if it's been answered before!) Can't wait, keep up the good work!!!

Congrats to all at Stardock! I have never had better post game support and this is what makes it so special. Complaining ( Stormbringer) when the team has gone so far to help all of us have a better experience, only makes you infamous. Well done Stardock! Looking forward to Dark Avatar for Christmas.

I'd like to see Stardock increase the interactivity of the minor races, if only to make them a bit mor annoying or increase there presence in the game. Most games I have at least two or more minor races. They steal techs, get attacked by the major races, create lots of starbases, try to beat you to the good resources, you can make money out of them by selling techs to them, but most of the time they don't do too much else. Although I did see them beat the Altarians once. I do

Make sure you are using the ID name and not the display name. The ID name is the one that is recognised by the game. and of course the [ have to be changed back to You can't post properly with HTML

If you're into modding yourself it's easy to just create your own race and adding the starting techs that you want to it. You just need to mod the race config file. I don't know of any specific mods that have a stronger starting race. It tends to make it unfair. This is a race that I made just as a tests once. The Tech's are at the end, as you can see I added quite a few. It was way too easy to win with this many techs but it will give you an idea of what to do. You get t

Good Point VWORP. Here's the email I got from Cari when I asked how it could be done. Hi Christopher, To create race specific techs, you should be able to do it by creating techs with the tech requirement ImpossibleTech and then adding the techs to the initial techs in the raceconfig file. Then make your branches from there. Give the AI value a really high value so that the AI won't trade it. The only way the other races will be able to access these techs will be f

While your still thinking about things. Some people on the forums have said they don't like the idea of tech stealing especially if races had their own specific techs. As Stardock is developing the whole race tech spying espionage thing. What's the possibility of having a check button (On / Off) for espionage. This would satisfy those who don't like the idea too much and also keep those happy who love this aspect of GCII. I just mentioned this because their has been
