The problem with allowing multiple installs is...well people like me. I own an internet cafe. It just is not right to allow so many PCs to run one licence. Would I want an addictive game in my cafe so it was full all the time? Ask yourself lol It would be nice tho to be able to buy extra licences at a reasonable price. HINT HINT STARDOCK

I think you will all agree that galciv2 has been the best supported game in history. Moo3 did well for its day Sid's Civs did ok Paradox games set a new bench mark But the speed of improvement with gal civ2 is staggering. What I think needs doing is giving back something to stardock. How can we do that? We praise (well most of us) stardock here, but that is like kissing your sister - it doesnt count. I think we need some way of telling people outsid

Another great benefit of advanced espionage is that you can actually see what is on their planets and capture special buildings such as hyperion stuff, which all transfer their "helps" to you now. As for gaining techs, it does happen if you keep at it. Keeping at it from early on is now a bit more difficult with the newer pop growth - so easy to be stuck for cash after the colony rush. I actually stole a black hole weapon once <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Cong

ohhhhh "Two new civilizations will be introduced in the expansion pack which will have the native ability to make use of planets that the others can't use without research (the expansion will introduce the concept of special planet types that can't be colonized until you've researched the appropriate environment technology" Is this a silicoid life form ? horray

I think the actual probelm with BOTF and MOO2 on XP is the formating of the drives ro XP mode. Some people can get it to run, other cant, I think this is the issue. Most problems with the PC... well I just shout a lot, get drunk and moan to the wife a lot. Next morning it all works great. What a great wife I have And if that fails we call in my internet cafe techie ( oh fuc*) , th

I read a lot about how people rate neutatality so highly and how evil rocks, good sucks. Here are some of my thoughts especiallyly when playing masochist lvl. Neutral gain a big gain as soon as ethics is researched, extra squares instantly and you can research to get better trade and research. The others do not really get much until they research the line fully and can build some really cool buildings. Evil can doulble their money and their ship building and if that is not

I never built the spin controller until I started playing on masochist level. The AI bonuses mean they will always outclass you on military so they will often declare war on you, the weak guy, unless you have it. Even then they WILL come after you, so you better be ready. I want my mummy

the thing about sizes and weapons increases as time and difficulty level increases. When You opponents turn up with fleets including dreadnaughts with huge defences against you best weapon, like 200+, it is time to make peace QUICK and research another weapon tree as they will gradually kill off all your old ships. If you are evil, it is pretty easy to upgrade all your old ships, if you are neutral it is easier to research that new tech, if you are good...like I am in my current game,,,,er

Birth of the federation is a great game especially if you like the star trek flavour. You might need a seperate win 98 hard drive to run it tho, I know I did, Just could not get a fully formatted XP PC to run it. In some ways it is similar to gal civ 2, each race has its own skin even voices when you give orders. VERY flavoursome if you get my meaning. Also you get the Borg who turn up half way through the game and try to ruin your day, Each race has different ways of dealing with that

Re minors declaring war on you: I have not had this in a while since they are a lot rarer than earlier patches but last time I had that happen I immediatly talked to them offered peace and they gave me 3 real tasty techs to boot. shortest war ever

I have had similar experiences. On a similar note I was losing a masochist level game a few days ago and looked at a diplomatic report of one of the races, it gave a minus because they "know what you are doing". I thought "You do? I wish I did"

I must agree with the OP, it does at least appear that luck has been toned down to almost nothing since 1.1. I am on I think my 3rd or 4th game using lucky races as well as being universalist and I have not even had one of those corvets let alone any rangers.

I too found that with 1.11 masochist level is damn hard. I have won 2 games at this level since this patch but bloody hell was it hard. I needed alliances. There does indeed seem a great difference between this and crippling which I have never lost at.

On higher difficulty levels potentially the biggest benefit you can gain from alignment choice is making freinds with potentially dangerous rivals and getting an alliance. For instance in my last masochist game I had the drengies and the korxx as neighbours plus the thalians somehow became evil and the yor were in the game too. Guess what alignment I chose

I am getting fed up of smart a**es claiming stardock are crap because they can beat the game easily. Are these guys just playing on the kiddie levels? I am no newbie to this kinda game and masochist level kicks my butt 2 out of 3 times (although I think I am getting better). If they find the game too easy, turn up the difficulty level and if they find that they can still beat the AI every time on the highest level...well...stop wasting your time on games, you are obviously a genius so

It perhaps would have been nice if this facility instead produced ships with say lvl 2 experience instead of the speed bonus rather like the one in birth of the federation.
