when they first started the OTS thing i was a bit confused and i stuck with LSDistro, but when i upgraded to the latest Indiestep build i changed to OTS and it was really a lot better. But i still hate having all the modules in each themes's directory so i always edited the themes to point ot one common modules folder. it's easier to update modules that way too. but as far as having LS detect if you don't have ht emodule and load a default, that wouldn't work cause modules that do the s

i meant "where can i get em"...
1)will ObjectBar work without me running Explorer? cause i'm running Talisman instead. And am i right to think it can make an auto-hide bar at the top of the screen? 2)What's the deal with SmartButtons? Are there actually any made and if so where can i get me?
the link is working so it must be something on your end, try http://www.angelfire.com/music4/vanillaice/index2.html if you're still interested, the other link is just the redirect. he actually doesn't do much rap now, his new cd is half/half like Cypress Hill's Skull & Bones, and his CD before that was all metal, produced by Ross Robinson who produces Slipknot. I still like his rap, but I prefer hard rock. There's not a whole lot of rap i'll listen to, Ice, Cypress Hill, Eminem (except
that's not really a problem. all it does is give people more possibilities with a theme. me for example i don't use winamp controls or vwm or sysmeters, so i edit that out of the theme and make more room for tasks and other stuff i want. so that saves me time in downloading a huge installer if i'm not going to use half the modules. and i catually liked it when they introduced the theme standard (OTS) cause it made it much easier to edit themes. Talisman does need some new modules though
I just wish more Litestep people would make the move to Talisman cause Litestep has TONS of modules and Talisman just has a few. I wrote a Talisman module myself but i can't get it to not show in the taskbar. i posted on their forum and never got a reply.
yeah, he sure got his ass kicked. but supposedly the whole thing was fixed, which is why all the winners had the advertisement on their backs. i'm not really sure i believe that but whatever. he wants to box eminem next, but eminem won't do it. they've got the same lawyer or something like that and ice is trying to make a deal through him.
I didn't know Stardock owned the site I just thought there was a partnership of sorts. But if the last time you tried Talisman was 5 years ago you really should try it again cause think about it, Desktop X wasn't even around 5 years ago, so it has to be a lot better than it was then. The reason i like Talisman better than Desktop X is cause for one you can use it as a shell replacement, and two it uses less resources (probably cause Explorer isn't loaded too), and I think it's easier to customiz
i've tried Desktop X and didn't really like it, then i switched to Litestep which i'd been running for the best part of the last year, but i just found Talisman II and i switched the next day and i'm never going back, cause it's awesome. I've also tried Hoverdesk but it was horrible and buggy, not setting the desktop area most of the time and everything. so why isn't there a Talisman section on this site?
this looks a lot more interesting than Win3D, with different themes and games and stuff, but if you can't run it cause it's so slow then why bother. and who would actually use something like that as a desktop?
sounds and looks alot like this http://www.clockwise3d.com/
what's with all the colored sentences?
"compare the number of people who have gone to the trouble of finding and using a crack to the number of people who bought the programs. and i'm not talking about all us computer nerds around here, i'm talking -everybody-" exactly. that's why it isn't hurting anything. "Vanilla, what are you talking about? PSP is only 100$, not 200. If you really want it and really need it, you can find 100$. " again, i don't NEED it, i just use it occasionally for fun. i could li
no i still wouldn't have bought psp cause as you all said there are free or dirt-cheap solutions too. maybe if i could afford it, which i can't cause psp is $200, and i NEEDED it i would buy it, but the reason i have downloaded copies is cause i don't NEED them, i just use them for a couple small websites i run as a hobby. but your scenario of no warez or cracks is totally unbelievable anyways, it's like having guns with no murders. by the way i use paint shop pro cause it's a
well, i just found a crack for my program... but i'm not really mad, i'm actually kinda honored... i just was hoping there wouldn't be one til it actually took off and i was making money off of it. i'm all for warez as long as the developers are still making money and they're not losing much, but for companies just starting out it's a little different. oh well, like i said people who get cracks don't buy software anyways...
uh, i cracked it for educational purposes. i never put the crack on any website or anything, i just wanted to learn to debug so that i could do it to my own program when it needs it. and no i don't think they stop a majority of theft, just look at any good cracks archive and they have at least one crack for every programd and version of that program imaginable. they've yet to make a program that can't be cracked and they never will.
why do companies even bother trying to add all these protection schemes and crap? they will never be able to stop cracks. in the program i made i didn't put too much effor in protection cause anyone who wants to crack it will either be able t themselves or get one from a site after it's been cracked by an experienced cracker. by the way i was able to crack desktop x 0.85 by myslef and i suck at it...
you could always get a no-cd crack... and like paxx does with games i've done with audio cds, i download them befeor they even come out and then when they do i go buy em.
alright then, i steal my software. i'm a thief. oh well.... those companies have a lot more money than i do so i don't feel bad about it.
it's not ok to steal a porsche, but when there's one in the parking lot everyone goes over and looks at. my point is it's not really stealing if you don't keep it and use it. for example 3d studio max is several thousand dollars and maya 4 i think it is is like $40,000. i guess that's a reasonable price for movie stuios who have million dollar budgets, but i downloaded 3ds max just to see what it's like and what they use to make some of these animated movies, i just looked at it. i fiddled arou
yeah i admit there are some things that i have downloaded that i would buy if i hadn't downloaded them, but that is a very small percent. and most of that stuff is because i don't have the cash to buy them or else i would. for the most part though i wouldn't buy things i download, or if i had bought them i would've wished i hadn't. for example WindowBlinds, if i couldn't get it for download and i had cash i might would buy it (that is if it's about $20, otherwise i don't think it's worth the pri
yeah i can imagine it is.
i'll say one more thing before i go and that's that it seems hypocritical to me for a site to outlaw the mentioning of warez when it benifits so much from it. i remember not too long ago the poll asked something about who has object desktop or windowblinds or something and i think around 10% of people admitted to having a pirated copy. and i guarantee you that at least 10% of the themes on this website are made with pirated software. i alone have five skins available now with total downloads nea
alright, no problem. i'm not trying to promote anything or whatever i've just been trying to explain how i personally feel that there's nothing wrong with it under certain cirumstances, but if you all don't agree or if there's a rule about mentioning warez then i won't mention it anymore.
one last thing, you do know that some artist actually support file-sharing services don't you? well, how do you explain that one?
