So, are there any news on this ? I believe it's still on the bugs list, but put right at the bottom, and will never get fixed ? Too bad for me, then. I guess I'll just have to keep away from playing the game, in order not to get angered by a bug that's been known since before day one, but hasn't yet and might never be fixed.

I don't know if many people have "accepted" it, or if they have merely given up. I still have the feeling that many don't care. I wouldn't put it in the same category as just another "favorite feature/pet peeve/whatever" (although I do admit it's a favourite topic of mine, because a real showstopper that prevents game enjoyment, and will keep me off from buying any new expansion until it is fixed), hey it's still a 100% reproductible and systematic bug with effects on gameplay mechani

It is supposed to prevent cheese, if I remember correctly. I have never found it annoying, just give the turn button an extra click. The AI, however, won't just skip its turn. Thus, that fix doesn't fully work, and it is still an annoying, major bug.

> Meklar Yes, the AI gets the same thing (note: haven't tested with the last version if the AI still gets the moves, but my bet is yes, as this was the case in earlier games). And I'd merely say that it's not "extra-moves", but merely that it's a turn without production: when looking at the graphs, there's a drop-to-zero for the manufacturing stat, but all other variables (economy, etc...) stay continuous. Which means that everyone gets a turn that just has no manufacturing

I don't see why the game is screwed. You can't produce anything, AI can't either, and about the only thing that works is moving ships. When half the turns of a game are non-production ones, then the experience with the said game is screwed. It doesn't mean the two sides are not on equal foot, it only means the gameplay gets destroyed. <TAB

Just think of the "load" bug in GalCiv2 as a similar event on galactic scale, and everything will be OK. If anyone wants to abuse it, he can go ahead. He's cheating only himself, not us. The problem is, if you play on huge galaxies and only have a small amount of time, it completely screws the whole game up, independantly of what you really wanted.<
