I understande the hardcaps but also agree that the max should be lifted on some of the and trade being one of them. But I also understand that trade doesnt neccasarily have to be at 20 considering the UP is a special event and even though it says permanantly doesnt mean it will be permanant as if it is brought up again it can change the settings on the new vote. So 16 would be good especially since some races atart with additional trade routes. and the UP increase would be so that other races c

For a real interesting game play on huge and everything to rare all races enabled plus minor races, No sense in colonising and that 1 planet you start with plus your colonisable(minus Thalans) will be very important planets.
Also if you hit randomize AI intelligence your not really playing on tough. The one you ran into is probably between easy and beginner, at cakewalk the doesnt have enough money to colonize. but if there is one AI on there that is obscene or suicidal you'll probably have a good game
Hope this helps and isnt too late, Start/control panel/sounds speeches and audio devices/sounds and audio devices/ Click on advanced(under speaker settings) click the performance tab and play with the hardware acceleration tab, many games with XP will actually do worse with the slider set to none. If you already had it set to none try it at max, setting it lower improved performance with win98 and lower Also the lower quality your video card the more resouces it will p
I'd like to mod this as I think the bonus is too extreme. Can I easily mod it's bonuses I want to take it down to a plus 6 sensor range bonus and kill the see all ships in radar.
I may have to correct what I said earlier although it could be the levels do in fact increase weapons damage from exp upon upgrading, I forgot I had a planet that had a 49 percent bonus to starships wich could be the real reason it had a better attack even though it had the same components.
Or if you have enough ships within range you can box them in
Also remember that if your the Terrans and build an influence starbase by 1 of there planets they will start wearing thongs.
Well you really didnt need to drop your taxes for 1 planet if all the rest were above 60 percent and that planet was less than 25 percent f your total population. The only 2 factors that you would need to worry about is if that planet was easily invadable wich the AI will use information warfare for sure wich could possibly kill anychance of defending it. But if it is tucked away far from the enemy you are safe from that but to be on the safe side at least keep an empty cargo haul(no m
Not to hijack this thread, but I'm curious as to how you could move your Civ Capital. Let me know the details, please. I believe this is how you do it open up the planet and click on details(or the summary button) then hit set as homeworld. just remember if you dont want to have that 12 billion pop to go to 5 billion when you end your turn build
Too easy to exploit. For offense, but if each planet had a slider wich increased its maintanence cost but then that xtra micro management plus having to program it and on top of that having the AI cpabale of handling it. Too small a feature for the extra work probably. This would give the A.I on huge advantage posssibly, up its defense o
First let's take a look at the survey ship. You can hit an anomally that says your ships weapons will be more POTENT next time you UPGRADE this ship. Now in game experience. I had mini-destroyers 2 att and 2 def but had a varying hp's from 16-30 hp's. So upgraded them and gave them 10 attack and 20 defense plus I had a fresh ship of the same type come out of the starport to make it a full fleet using 100 percent of the logistic points. Now most people know that the ship that is at the t
Another thing sorely lacking in the AI is the value of sensors. I am not even talking about Eyes of the Universe here, but in all the games I have played the AI *never* researches Sensor techs. The AI loses because it is blind without sensors. The AI doesnt need sensor techs at higher difficulty levels unless they nerfed this in one of the later
AI upgrades my ships. Apparantly if the AI gifts you with a ship and my guess is that they still have some of the same class ship. They will upgrade thiers and yours that are in the same class. Minor bug but could cause nightmares if it gets caught in an upgrade next to an enemy fleet. Also planetary influence, it is so easy to overwhelm the A.I. in influence now. I'm not going for an influnce victory nor did I have intensive research in the tree but I have gotten mega influenc
Try using the warparty. Kicks butt at first when you can use your baby dreadlords to invade planets and laugh your butt off. But very quickly it wears off as you really have to tech up for the plus 10 att/defense becomes a bonus. The soldiering bonus is the only real bonus. And when you have trouble clearing a planet of ships what good is the soldiering bonus
This is also flawed. My military power is 15 percent the strength of the weakest nation and 5 percent of the strongest. The problem! Well when the map spawned I noticed my isolated spot on a huge galaxy with 10 opponents. I started all the way on the left center of the map. To get to my closest neighbor to the north and not adding life support required 3 starbases to get there. To my south 3 starbases. And to my right another 3 starbases. So what happ
Fustrating at first but let me tell you how to make full use of this feature and enjoy it. The whole idea of this is so you have no idle ships. So you move a ship and the game cycles to a ship doing nothing. Now either put that ship in guard/sentry mode and it will sit there and never be cycled again. A ship in guard/sentry mode will leave that current state if an enemy/netral ship goes by it. or if it is sitting right next to a planet that
How do I make an alliance I reasearched alliance and the text says this "Enables you to negotiate alliances with other civilizations." When I speak to them, the option to make an alliance is not there. I've built a few embassies, is there another building I need? More inflence? better trade? So what am I missing to make this option available?
Ok I'm playing my first game and figured I'd try to make alliances before war. I researched alliances where it says "Enables you to negotiate alliances with other civilizations." I have a few diplomacy centers built, is there another building I need? better relations? certain amout of trade routes? or other? So what is stopping an alliance from showing up in the speak to menu, thanks for any help!
