I just purchased Gal Civ after tracking progress on a net that wanted up front subscription which I did not want. A stand alone version was very nice. But I could really use a picture of the Tech Tree that I can read. The survival guide one is too small for me. And it would not enlarge. If anyone knows of one anywhere I would realy like to know where Thanks GreyWolf99

I am interested. Please enroll me in any beta or alpha. [email protected] I keep seeing references to testing but cannot find how to become involved.
I see shipyards as a way of controlling development. I like long games, everlasting even, so requiring shipyard development as a function of a tach tree as a method of seeing that no one person/side develops too quickly for balance. I like the idea of design of new ships as a function of research development geared to production and expansion. Just having a lot of production units should not mean the ability to build giant ultimate ships. GreyWolf
I like the idea of large numbers over smaller ones. It allows finer tuning. Having 100 points to distribute insteas of ten means I have to really study how I am going to set up a design for different purposes. As to assigning numbers I think things like speed should be related to hull size capacity. For example using capacity could allow me to give scoute faster speed at the expense of attack or defense, or perhaps communication range. To design a fleet with very different types of ships, some s
The only thing I need to search for is more info on GalCiv. Where is the stuff for people who have just signed up. Even if we connot play we should be able to contribute to game play. And YES I would like to be considered for testing whenever that becomes available. Until then I can only express my ideas of what could be in the game. 1). Ability to design ships with tradeoffs between features. I like the idea of shipp getting exp as well as the player. 2). Single player mode as well as multiplay
I agree that AI is both very important and very difficult to get right. Oh yes, I have just signed up for GalCiv as it appears to come close to my ideal galactic game I heve looked for forever. One inportant thing about AI, it should not cheat. It should struggle under the same handicap as players do. It must be able to learn however from play and thus grow with the game itself. About me: I am a long time game player and have been a beta tester for a number of online real time games go
