You've shown that you aren't, and that's that. Our reasons for liking the game won't all coincide, proving that there is no objective way to ascertain a game's worth. It's entirely personal.

No it's not the best game ever. [I]Darklands [/I]is, and that's the objective truth. I'm sure that someday someone will come up with a mathematical formula that proves it. As someone who doesn't usually enjoy the RTS genre, I'm actually really enjoying this game. I'm not sure "deep" is a word I would use to describe it, but "addictive" would sum it up for me. I had the demo before I got the full game, though have been enjoying the full version for about a week now. Tonight i decided to uninstall the demo and did so through add/remove programs, was very careful to select "Galactic Civizations 2 Demo" and not the full version, and at the end of uninstall saw both of them disappear. Also, who are you playing as? As Terrans, I almost always have the same problem you have. Just makes the game much more challenging. However if you try a different race, say the Torians, you should dominate fairly easily. I started out playing the Terrans only and kept cursing my luck that I was getting whiped every time. In prior versions, upgraded ships with the same name first got the warning, and then replaced the older design. If the game "recommends" you not do something, it should at the very least clarify what will go wrong if you do it anyway, or not allow you to do it in the first place. I just loaded up a saved game and I can't see any borders anymore. I tried starting a new game, and still don't get any borders. Did I hit a button that turned them off? Is there a button that turns them off / on? The keyboard commands in the manual don't list anything. I'm playing beta, btw.

I 2nd AussieRay's suggestion regarding new ship designs. When I "Upgrade this design," I would like it to include all components of that ship, not just the barebones skeleton, as I find myself constantly canceling out of the process to see what I had on the original that I wanted to upgrade. I wish I had a better memory, but I create so many ships for different purposes it gets a bit difficult to remember what they all have on them. Thank you. I love this game.
