Yes, I have seen it work correctly for the AI. That is, a textbox appeared when I tried to attack one of his freighters saying that it wasn't possible. And as always, I'm on the 'Fix the bugs and adapt the AI to the game'-side, not the 'Ignore the bugs and dumb down the game for the AI'-side you seem to favour. [Ensign] [Yor] [Tough]

On page 56 of the GalCiv2 manual, in the Galactic Achievement/Benefit box, it states: Galactic Privateer: Your freighters cannot be attacked. If this has been changed so that the freighters CAN be attacked but the route stays open, please let me know. Just out of curiosity, what good is the route if you don't have any freighters? Or does this mean that if you put a new freighter back into the empty route that it just starts running the route without having to re-establish a
To get the driver only, go to ati.com. Go through the selection process (windows XP, Radeon series). Read the instructions carefully. Be sure to download the catalyst uninstall program (it's linked right above the driver discription box), but don't run it yet. Next, look at the options for downloading. One is for high speed, it has most of the software bundled together. Below that is the slow speed or dial up section. In it, you will see the link for the DRIVER ONLY, no catalyst software. This i
I have built the Galactic Privateer in 8 to 12 games and it has NEVER seemed to work. I am under the impression (from the description in the game) that your freighters cannot be attacked after you build this acheivement. If that is not how it is supposed to work then I stand corrected, but this seems like a big flaw (bug?) in the game. If it's not, then a more thorough description needs to be provided by Stardock.
I also have the Radeon 9550 AGP card, and I am using the same driver you are. I haven't had any crash problems since installing 1.1 final version. The only difference is that the last time I upgraded the video drivers, I got rid of all the Catalyst software and downloaded the new driver only. But, I don't think that should make any difference. Looks like Stardock might have found your problem, but I just wanted to let you know that I didn't think the problem was your video card.
A couple of people brought up complaints at the beginning of this thread and have been flamed for it just like anyone else that has said anything similar in other threads. While I think the Stardock Sucks title is unfair it is aguable that they have the right to complain. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb
Well, I think it's still great that they are putting out the effort to correct these issues as quickly as they can. The point of my post was just to ask them to continue what they are doing. As I learn more about the game (and read more of the posts here), I have become more aware of the gameplay issues (or errors) that the game has. I was just hoping that they wouldn't slow down now that 1.1 is out.
I've been playing GalCiv 2 for a month now, and I really love the game. I want to say that so far I think you all have done a good job in addressing issues and creating the beta patches to keep the game updated. I have had very few problems as far as bugs go. By bugs I mean crashes, hardware conflicts, memory issues, etc. After downloading final ver. 1.1, I must say my new concern is for the gameplay issues or conflicts (galactic achievements that don't seem to work, strange economic issues
I have experienced this too. Playing the Terrans, I constructed Galactic Privateer before creating any trade routes. I built it on Earth and then created 3 trade routes, also originating from Earth. Several turns later, the Kork declared war on me and knocked out all of the freighters. Building the Galactic Privateer just didn't seem to have any effect at all.
I looked around the site for instructions on the debug.err process, so you wouldn't have to answer another post, but I couldn't find any. Please tell me where the file is located, and do I post it here or email it to you? Also, do I recreate the bug, get out of the game, then give you the file, or does it matter?
I have beta 3 and have noticed a "new game" bug. When I resign a game early on (as the Terrans), and the program goes back to the main menu, when I hit the "new game" button, I get sent right back into the game I just resigned from (it's completely playable, as if I never resigned to begin with). I have to quit the game to actually start a new one. This is the only true "bug" I have had with this game. Using Windows XP SP2, DX 9.0c, Intel 2.88ghz, Ati.
I downloaded the demo the day it was released, then I downloaded the full game a few days later. When I went to remove the demo, windows XP shows the demo as the only one installed. I expected to see the full game and the demo both listed. After checking, I noticed that the full game has been saved into the galciv2demo folder. (This may be my fault, but I don't remember the program asking me what folder to install it in). Would Stardock Central have a
