Definitely noticed. You guys zoomed up the rankings. Back before I formed my own empire, your emperor was the first to invite me to join an empire. He's got mad PR skill. Excellent job HHC. Is it me or are people actually starting to take notice? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-

I would like an empire modeled from the Empire of Leto II in the Dune series. Picture having navigators fold space for instance transportation. Fremen warriors in jihad across the galaxy, Bene Tleilax producing resources in axtol tanks and infiltrating enemies with face dancers, the forbidden technology of Xy, the research of the Mentats, the healing of the Suk, the manipulation of the Bene Gesserit. All under the control of the god emperor. Ah, it would be grand...
Thank you, It would seem that the Bene Tleilax are as fanatical in the Metaverse as they were in Frank Herbert's literal works as well. I have no doubt that they intend to delivery the goods to the Paradox and the Lords. Finally things are starting to warm up in the cold of the Metaverse. Ah the lamentation of the Ars are music to my imperial ears.
Good to know I have the support of the Bene Tleilax. Do either the Fremen or the Sadaukar have a position on the matter before the Landsraad?
DL, transports did attack. Damn psionic beams, raise shields !!!
A question for the Landsraad Senate, The Padishah Emperor has received a request to join the empire from an individual whose character is not one from the Dune universe. While my initial thought was that this goes against my original thoughts of a themed empire, I began to consider the matter with a more long-term perspective (As is fitting of one on the Golden Path) Our situation is similar to that of the Leto II's, we are an empire that must eventually face forces far greater than ou
Mistralok, How's this empty hull stuff working. I'm playing an obscene difficulty game now and I noticed that the Yor transport coming at my planet has a 90 beam weapon offense, what difference is the empty hull going to make other than becoming an appetizer?
Well Done Fremen, the jihad proceeds well. The spice must flow.
So sensitive, you have got to have something better to do with your time but then again probably not. Actually I thought the pronunciation of Iraq was was more of an "E" sound in the appropriate dialect when I've actually heard Iraqi citizen's refer to their home. Now that I think about it same goes for pronunication of either Iranian and Italian. Maybe you should try that a conversation with person outside of message board petty sniper BS. At least get your "ah.." facts straight. <
Hidar, We accept the pledge of the Bene Tleilax, get those axtol tanks to work and send us a few twisted mentats so we can destroy our enemies. Thanks Chipperoo, Yeah I though Hidar was deep. The whole amal project tied the prelude series to the later Dune stuff with the Tleilax produced melange. Hidar was cool and devious, and high most of the time from the way I read it. Darth Nihilus, It is the Imperium that's coming for you. Haven't you he
I gotta asked F.C. How are you doing this on the obscene setting? The crippling seems as if I'm just barely making it.
Thanks, I'm playing my first ever game on the crippling difficulty. I'm trying to boost my points per game. I about freaked when every empire declared war on me almost at once but I think I the tide is finally turning.
I'm playing a game right now at the Crippling difficult that is turning into a dogfight. I'm playing the Yorand I got a decent start position. I was able to nab planets at a good clip and hem the Thalans, Korx, and Iconians into one corner more or less. Also had 2 minor races in the mix. By 2227, I have conquered all of them and unified my little corner of rhe map. The United Planets gave me a planet in the opposite corner ofrhe map around about year 226. I used to the location t
Dudes, you're killing me. Get hooked on phonics. (A) not (I). Kind of like Iran and Iraq. One letter difference between the two. Maybe they could compromise and call it Irap and have a hip-hop battle. Anyway sorry no hidden covert, anti-American setiment hiding here. Just good nature love of the Dune universe story line. Arrakis is the name of the planet Dune.
Way to go Wormrider, I noticed that you posted a few games this past week. We are closing in on the #11 empire. Less than 40k points to go once the metaverse tallies everthing up today.
Major Bummer Dude, It would seem that the Emperor has abdicated and the golden era of the Galactic Empire is behind us. For those Imperial citizens who remain might I take a moment and recommend the High Command Hegemony to you as a possible alternative. They seem to be a very active group of gamers who are still big time invested in having a good metaverse time and I would find it hard to imagine that all of you share your former emperor's opinion. Of course if there's a Dune fan hid
Oops "Fallen of our enemies." that is. Sorry about the typo. For those who think we are having way too much "in character" funny please feel free to join our happy little band. If you're struggling to find a Dune Universe name or haven't read any of the books, wikipedia "Dune Noble Houses" and you'll get a list of plenty and for those moments when you need to look at something other than a computer screen and would suggest reading anythin in the Dune library. I've enjoyed them all,F
Agreed. It also gives incentive to watch the game calendar mop up your enemies quickly.
Welcome Proud Zensunni Wander, The Padishah Emperor is honored by the pledge of the a noble Fremen Niab. Welcome, the Jihad is upon us. You are hereby granted senator status and humbly asked to rally other Fremen Sietchs to our cause. The blessings of Shai Hulud be upon you. To the death stills with the fallen of or enemies.
Oh god, you have been locked in the tower too long Rich data sets !!! You're causing flashback to my doctoral stats courses. A curse upon you If their data aint no good, then let the Drengin feast on them!
I have to agree with Fuels Chief. I played for about six months before posting a single game. I don't think that should have been held against me in any way as being less credible. I don't think the score is the point, at least to me that is. Take for example my empire, Arrakis Imperium. I'm a big fan of Dune. I've read all 7 novels and several story stories. I want folks to join who share that love for Frank Herbert's creation and think the Dune universe is a really cool piece of sci fi.
I agree a limit of perhaps 20, I could see that but 10 would seem to slow things to a crawl. Some form of stargate for instant system to system movement would seem to be necessary with a limit of 10 to movement speed. Maybe a stargate could function like the warp gate from Star Trek Armada game, a special project allowing instant 2-way travel anywhere on the map but such a gate could only be open maybe once every 12 turns (2 game months) and the portal is only open for 2 turns (2 game
Greetings Loyal Citizens of the Imperium, It is with great honor that I report that we have surpassed the Iron Guerillas Empire (formerly ranked #12) and have taken aim at Ars Galactica. The recent efforts of the Sadaukar where greatly appreciated during the Iron Guerilla campaign. The Padishah Emperor, Emperor of the Known Universe, Emperor of a Million Worlds, is currently wrapping up both a Drath posting and a Human posting. Together these should put us within striking distance
Still looking for folks to join. I know there are still a few diehard Dune fans hiding out there. I want to thank all the empire members, all of whom have posted points for the cause. With a bit of luck we should have the Iron Guerillas unseated by the end of the week and start closing in on Ars Galactica in another week or two. Let's see if we can break into the top 10 by Christmas. The spice must flow <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border
I use 1 click as I tend to wait. I use the info on planets to determine which planets to target first to cripple the opponents ability to mount a counter attack. The possibility of stolen tech is just icing to me.
