I've spent the last 30 minutes reading this thread about why people pirate, stuff about Impulse, IE7 and why they pirate over buying the game. So, here is my comment on the issues ..... 1. Impulse is good app ... I've got it installed on 2 of my 4 systems I use on a daily basis. Ones on a Vista Ultimate x64 system and the other is WinXP Pro with SP3 ... the other 2 ... Gentoo 2007

Right now the beta is good ... [e digicons][/e] ... I can only see it getting better ... They should only have 4 products. Two versions for laptops and 2 for desktops. A 32 bit and a 64 bit ... The 64 bit verision should have special options that can be downloaded and added to it. So, you can connect to a corporate server and network. If Microsoft thinks alot of companies are going to swarm to Windows 7 .. I don't see it h

The last episode was " OK" , but it leaves alot of room for a few movies .. I hope they take the time and make 2 or 3 DVD movies based off Stargate Atlantis ... Looking forward to the new series ... [e digicons]:D[/e] ..

I too, installed the beta of Windows 7 on my test system. The install went good. After the install only had 1 major issue. The Blue ray wasn't working. So, I had to reboot press F8 and turn off "forced drivers signed" After that the blue ray drivers loaded and I was up and running. I been using it for a few hours now and the overall feel is "OK"

DRM will be around for a few more years. Big companies have too much over head in the corporate layout. The bigger the company the slower it takes to change. Thats why big software companies like DRM ... They figure it reduces piracy and helps corporate bottom line. Bottom line .. it's all smoke & mirrors .. IMHO ... alot of games that came out last year just ... wasn't that good ... Th

I just rebuilt my system ... I have the same problem ... I have a habit of collecting old hardware and stick it on the shelf for future use. [e digicons]:borg:[/e] I also, update my hardware WAY TOO much ... [e digicons]:erk:[/e] I figure it's time to slow down ... Most likely I'll clean up my older hardware as soon as I get some free time .. [e digicons]B)[/e]

I've been playing the new Red Alert 3 game on my other system. I had to add a extra fan to the system. The game put a big load on the graphics card. Before adding the extra fan the game would crush the game. I found out my ATI graphics card was getting too hot and caused the crash. I have sins on that system too. The card get hot, but doesn't crash. Now the crash is resolved, most likely your system needs better air flow.<

Shrike7, Is the video card new? or been purchased in the last 9 months or so. Nvidia had issues with bumps on some of their video chips and chipsets .. Basically when the chip gets too hot ... the material get soft and connecting crack and cause BSOD and other issues ... If it is, RMA the card and get a new one. I prefer Nvidia carda when I build linux systems. Right now, I'm using ATIs video cards when I build PC system n

I've just got the beta and haven't tweeked the setting so far. The starbase adds to the over all game. So far I've only played a few games trying all the races and building everything to see if anything doesn't work. I haven't had any game crashes. I'll max the setting and see what happens ... [e digicons]:D[/e] My system specs are high, so it shouldn't have system resource issues,, [e digicons] Wil

Nice hardware specs .... [e digicons]B)[/e] . I hope you plan on putting all that in a full tower with a NICE .. big 1300 or 1600 WATT PSU ... with lots of cooling. You might even think about adding a blueray drive too. On the drive selection you might want to have 2 Intel flashs drive setup in a mirroring config. for the OS and 4 1T HDs in a raid-5 config too, in case of drive failures ... Having a hard drive fail on you wit

The Stargate Universe series will replace the void left by Stargate Atlantis. The stargate series is very popular and I hope they don't mess it up like they did with the Star Trek series ... Star Trek Enterprise was a major let done, also they didn't even do a spin off to something else ... Looks like it's a wait an see thing now ... [e digicons][/e]

Torgamous Neat concept, but unfortunately what you end up with is the worst of two worlds. You have people complaining about digital distribution based on the fear that the company server might one day go down, This would only be done during the install phase. Also, if by change the company does "FOLD" Then they would have to release a new install app to correct this .. Torgamous</strong

I agree , pirating software is bad ... but I don't really see anyone trying to slow it down ... What I mean is .. by adding DRMs to the CD .. isn't working. This year, alot of good games that could have been made for the PC didn't to the rise in PC pirating ... :( I hate to say this but console software is pirated too. Here is what I would like to see happen: the game CD only has the data of the game and a ins

I don't see the new Stargate Worlds game ... doing good if the StarGate series ... id canceled ... ? No Star Trek ... No Stargate ... You need to cancel those stupid weekend ... movies now ... Sci-Fi .. does ..

The US and Israel are going to do what they want. In there minds they think this is a good idea. Bottom line ... the average person has no say in the final outcome. Things will change after November ... I hope it doesn't get any worst then it already is ....

MS Vista is " OK " ... I just purchased a new laptop and it's running fine. I'm still running 3 WinXP and a Gentoo system on my little home network. Right now I'm in the process of adding HP WHS to my small net. In my opinion MS Vista is designed for new hardware and you should never select the min. for hardware specs.

Lantec:
the fella used a 6 instead of a 9 (haven't got a clue what that means)
Most likely the number 9 cable has more shielding and the material of the wire is better too. Also, if their are any splitters being used. Make sure they are in good working order.
