I can verify this crash. I can provide logs if necessary. Rob

Something that I am sorely missing is the auto-next action check box in settings. Remember when you used to finish moving a ship and it would automatically select the next one? There is not even the option for that now (at least that I can find). Also, when you right click and hold it during movement, it would be great if the screen would show you how far you are currently trying to go. That would make things a lot easier for me...
See the screen shot I have linked to to understand what I mean.... Screen Shot Alright, let me explain. I was racing the Jessuins to a Research resource that they already had a starbase on. They were sending reinforcements to either a)extract more resources or b)arm it so I couldn't blow the thing up and take it over. I sent 3 constructors (move of 4) to the resource while the Jessuins already had 1 ahead of
Well, if it was a precentage chance, it must be uber small since it happened to every single planet I invaded that had any tiles that needed terraforming.... Like I said, I wasn't too bothered by it at the time since it was during the final push to crush the opposition and I didn't care what happened to the planet after I crushed the resistance, but I can see where it would cause some consternation if I had actually wanted to use the planet to it's fullest potential....
I was playing Neutral (so I should have automatically had all the tiles available) AND I had almost all the techs in the tech tree (save the last 2 for the tech victory and the plague cure since I didn't have that mega event). In my past experiences, the TD just wiped it clean and allowed me to do what I needed (even when NOT playing neutral) to the tiles that needed to be upgraded. These tiles actually disappeared . Phu
Sorry but I don't have a save game to show as example (I was on the last push to destroy the Torians and win the game so I wasn't that concerned with not being able to use the planets I was taking for much) but whenever I invaded any tile that was not upgraded for use disappeared! For example, I would send my transports into orbit and use Tidal Disruptors to gain the advantage. After I won the battle and then watched the screen to see what tile improvements were destroyed, the first on
I already emailed the Smart Exception log in along with my last saved game and the debug.err but I figured I'd post it here too..... It happened in between turns and one of the last things it did was abort a path that was too long to calculate.... I got a Mega Event that had them show up. Scared me a little, but I have yet to see them. I'll update if and when they knock on my door.... PLaying Yor so with my Super-Ab (slow speed) I'll have plenty of time to see them coming... LOL. Phu
And my little addition(s): When you skip the last ship with available movement points, GCII would immediately end the turn and go into the Auto-pilot ships. In GCII:DA, you have to hit the End Turn button or [enter] to get the turn to end. I much prefer the old way. TOOLTIPS! I totally agree with antop on this. I would love to be able to hover over a starbase and have a tooltip come up with all it's installed modules (and more if possible) so I can see where I need m
Exactly right SW....see this post here to see what we mean... Thanks! Phu
Class 4 and lower planets are cool when you play neutral. If you colonize one, you'll see that there are A LOT of tiles for terraforming. In fact, most of those planets when fully terraformed will be upwards of 12-15 by the time you are done....a lot of work, but nice. Also just found out that when you choose neutral you don't immediately get all of the un terraformed tiles. You only get the tiles that you could have terraformed at your current tech level. Once you get the next tech
When you open the planet so you can see the tiles, the environmental icon is to the right of the planets name. The tooltip that coems up when you colonize the planet let's you know what % of production you currently have on planet. Hope that helps... Phu
Just played a bit (the last 2 hours ) and my first impressions.... Wow...the planetary environments make the startup A LOT slower. You really have to pick and choose what you grab and where, THEN you have to really watch what ships you build so you are able to grab up all the available "stuff" you can before the AIs do. Also, the new environs make diplomacy a LOT more important. IF
Downloading now! Whoo hoooooo! I preordered on Tuesday BTW if anyone was wondering....
I always go with this... Factory (purchase) Farm Factory Starport Lab Lab Entertainment Bank Influence After the planet finishes that, I'll go with more factories (buy 1) and what ever bonuses remain on planet. IF I stil have room, I'll purchase wonders and the like...
