My upgrade path: Installed game with latest beta patch. Game was fairly stable at this point. A few days later I installed the collectors edition goodies. Reinstalled .018 since my old saves didn't work and SDC thought I was running an older version. From this point on switching from the desktop back to the game has resulted in crashes almost half of the time.

BladeVenom: Well duh, of course I did. My point was that someone needs to review the code used to make the offers. I'd suggest looking at how amortation tables are calculated and using those as a baseline. Depending on total prices anything between a 2 year used car loan with a large down payment, and a 30year morgage with nothing except closiing costs upfront would be viable templates.
I started a game as the Yor, and upgraded a default scout to include a 2nd ion drive. The upgrade prices I got were: 54bc 36bc + 2bc for 3 weeks 68bc + 11bc for 23weeks 59bc + 4bc for 120 weeks
Crash to desktop from using invalid chars in a ship name. This doesn't happen every time, and so far I haven't been able to find out exactly what I'm doing differently to cause it only some of the time. I;m only describing the crash path here. Open the shipyard, create a ship and attempt to name it with an illegal char in the name. Click OK in the dialog. The dialog goes away without any warning. The displayed name is unchange
I'm having two intermittant graphics problems. The first is that if I try scrolling the main map to the edge of the universe, or to an unexplored area the display has a 'seizure' and then bounces back into the explored area I moved the map from. The second is that at times the rotating ship and and planet images occasionally start spinning at an out of control rate, upto the point that the human colony ship in the new game wizard looks mor
