I'm in the same boat as Alfdaur. I changed to 1 and added -localdataonly to the shortcut and still nu luck. Just to confirm (I may have it wrong) I add -localdataonly to the shortcut by going "properties" "shortcut tab" and adding it to the end in the "target" field?

I can probably dig up the old event screens from the first one. Any one here good at adding gui? Shoot me what you find. The GUI is not difficult to mod. Once the family cheat has been enabled, ctrl+p generates children too. Howev
I'm also in favor of this one. I'd love to see Dynasties brought into the full game. That was one of those little things about Elemental that I really liked. It was actually really disappointing when I finally found a hero of the opposite sex in a game and couldn't marry them. In the old game I loved creating a story behind it. I had my one son who was a great mage, and his two sisters who were far better governors and rulers than he was. He went

I also noticed that it was actually the pop-up windows when you hover over an item like a sword or an attribute. The window would expand to fill the whole screen. It ca
I just updated to version 1.02 via the downloadable patch from version 0.981. If I load up the Workshop - Faction Creator, I experience the same bug again and again. If I float the mouse cursor over a trait like "Archers" it switches to a greywindow with the trait's name at the top and nothing else. I'm usually stuck on that window for 10-20 seconds before it goes away. I may be hitting a key combo or just esc to make it go away but I'm not sure. This bug m
Ah, ok. But is there any sort of guarantee where you can find settleable area's I thought that perhaps along rivers, but I've frequently come across unsettleable rivers.
If this has been covered before I apologize. I've never had any luck with the search function on the Elemental forums. One of the biggest things I've noticed about how FE has changed from the first game is how city creation has been altered. What is the deal with needing to find grain? I'll actually find a patch of grain and send my pioneer to it and I can't settle. But those resource flags will be covering an area around a nearb
Ok, how do we go about reporting a random non-repeatable CTD while using Windows XP? I've had a few.
my biggest concern for this elemental game is that they fixed the memory leak issues that damn near killed the first elemental (and have yet to be patched). Any news about this issue in FE?
So I preorderd the game from the website as being an old owner of the first Elemental got me about $10 off. I'm downloading the beta now, but my Impluse/Gamestop/whateveritisnow section My Games, doesn't list the new Elemental game next to the old one. So here's the question. Is this new Elemental tied to a different service? Or can it be activated/attached to any of them? For instance, I'd really like it if there was a way to activate my copy of the beta I just

For the life of me I can't get either of these mods to work! I've installed them separately and togeather but nothing happens. It's rather odd. If I look under "installed mods" on the mods option from the main menu, it lists these as being there. But in-game there's nothing. I've got a city with a harbor to test them on and the buildings aren't listed on the build list at all (even in the "can't build yet" greyed out buildings). Do I have to start a new game to
I wanted to make a faction that focused on ranged combat. While everything I've found here on the forums and on the Wiki indicates that there's a trait you can choose for a custom faction called "Master Archer", it's not actually available in my game. I couldn't find any mention of it in the change logs for the patches though. So was Master Archer removed in a newer patch or is my game just bugging out on this one thing for some reason?
I was raised Christian and due to a lot of reading and research I am now agnostic. What's missed by a lot of the people on the ID side is that you can in fact have evolution and the big bang and god all at the same time. It only falls apart when you try to push fundamentalist beliefs regarding the content of the bible (in most cases, the King James version which even biblical scholars can tell you is one of the most butchered and edited versions of the text so far) being infallible and word
I must admit, I have not been the most legitimate of pc users at times. But for the most part it's only to see if something is worth buying. I wouldn't have known otherwise that Civ 4 was great, nor that my old video card was bugged in such a way that the game would crash every 10 minutes. But when I replaced it I bought my own copy and played it proudly. But I have never thought of pirating anything from stardock. it's not worth it and it's a bit dishonorable. In addition to feel
This might just be me, but I'd like some way to control them or manipulate them more. I mean, I've got this big space empire and they can't even land a sentient on the nearest planet in their own system! As such I am unto a god to them to some degree. So why is it that I can't steal their tech for cheap or just make unfair deals with them, when my empire surrounds them and I have fleets orbiting their worlds that could decimate them in an instant? Well, ok, to be serious, what I mean is
I'd like some control over victory conditions. Maybe checking a little box for the ones that count. For example, being able to choose between "normal victory" and "they all must fall". And maybe a victory condition where the first to destroy the pirate base wins. You just pump up the pirate's starting ships and it'd be great.
Ok, I've
Well, if the cutscene is anything, the hints are that they're running from some out of control experiment to do with FTL travel. Maybe they birthed a brand new universe and its eating the old one up as fast as it expands? It moves at the speed of light, so no return signal is possible. By the time you detect it, you're already gone.
Ok, I've got to give you credit for originality on that one. I don't think I've ever heard of "running from an new universe as it e
You know, I like the whole Vasarii storyline but it has me wondering, what is it that's hunting them down? No doubt its being saved for the expansion or the campaign or some such. But my question is do you think the devs can be creative about this one? It seems that we've seen all the options for "big bad mystery aliens" before though. Ancients, Killer Robots, Organic ship aliens out to consume all organic life, Bigger aliens than the ones you're fighting? All done. Though no one's gone
I've been a fan of Master of Orion from the moment I picked up that first copy of MOO until the dissapointment that was MOO 3. Ok, I like, I loved MOO 3, it might've taken hours to get anything done but something about swarming across 250 systems just made me smile. Then along came GC 2, and I fell in love. They got everything right except the combat. It was like they decided to focus on everything else and that was ok, but it allways bothered me. And now along comes Sins and its the exact
I like the system actually. Sure it could use some fixes but with that kinda tech, that's the kind of strategies youd expect to see. I'm starting to have some battlestar galactica flashbacks with all the damned jumping though.
Well it does kinda fit in with the idea of the game. You have alot of control in GC2 but not alot of fine detail control. You can build spys and send them to planets, but you can't dictate what they do there. You can design ships and send them on their ways, but you don't pilot them. Where MOO put you all over the place decision-wise, GC2 feels more like you are the top guy in the empire. Everyone does what you say, but you can't wander down to the airforce base and fly a dangerous mission
