It's not important but since you seem the have to need the get all aggro about it, well, the art in Dominions 3 sucks. There exists good sprite art (nowadays mostly from Japanese devs and on handhelds) and the one in Dominions 3 aren't one of them. Oh and whoever had the idea to place sprites in such an uninspired 3d enviroment, hadn't much luck with the execution. We don't expect high-def render art, but a fitting and coh
Hard to make =/= good
no but the personal level detail that good sprite art represents is. that's what dominions has that you've never seen in a game; personal level detail. most people are so force fed with commercialized crap that they don't even know what that means anymore. They're just drug-addicted monkeys that rush to the newest most improved soulless shiney series of blin
Also from Shrapnel forums (Omni) I Second DC. The over 100 dollars of Stardock software I have purchased NEVER gets played, while I'm still playing Dominions 3 after years. The reason is that it is truly in-depth strategy. What this means for most games is layers and layers and layers of tedious _detail_. Dominions 3 is actually minimalistic on the detail; it is true, like TRUE, TRUE FUCKING DEPTH; not just heaping on of more superfluity. <
if I could comment on races and ship designs. I assume your talking about Gal Civ II. I used to play, and like, the game. For some reason, it didn't stick with me though, the races seem awfully unbalanced. I suppose when I played and loved MoM and MoO, that sort of thing never bothered me, but in my aging, I've become quite iritated by small items like that. On ship designs, it heartily annoys me that the connector points are not centered. If you take a single straight peice, for e
I decided to just cut to the chase and start a game at suicidal level! I've played far enough into a normal level game to get to try everything out and famaliarize myself with all the concepts and some basic stratagies, though ive never actually completed a game at any level. but I decided, what the hell, play at suicidal and even if i dont win i'll get alot of good XP. BTW iv'e beet Alpha Centari on the "transcendental" level (the hardest one) and Master of Magic on it's hardest level too.
Heh. a green star, and i suppose a purple one too, are physically impossible. Our own star is actually mostly green, but appears yellowish white because a star is a blackbody, it emits and absorbs the entire spectrum of light.
I noticed that the different races have a different number of points left over to spend. Are these points supposed to be spent, or are they just there because the race has some abilities that cant be bought normally (+8 logistics, +100 loyalty, +25 miniturazation, ect.). Typically, the races with lots of unbuyable abilities have the most points leftover, so I was thinking this was the case.
I used the search feature to look for somthing related to this topic, as well as combed through a couple pages of the forums looking for a thread on this topic; I never found on so I'm starting this thread. Still, this may be old news, but I just bought this game today so... but here goes. (BTW I have the BETA 4 version) There are a number of misprints on the race creation screen. Here is what I've found so far 1. at the screen where
