Who cares? It's console fare - the port to PC was quite possibly the most horrible mess I've ever had the misfortune to install on my harddrive. I am so glad I'm one of those filthy pirates, or I would've had to kill myself over the complete waste of money it would've been.

Afaik, last I heard (keep in mind that I'm not as active as I used to be) there'd be no LAN. All multiplayer will take place on Stardock's servers. On the number of players, I'd say that multiplayer with anything less than 8 players would just be strange.
