That's odd. I'm using your exact script and it works. How's your object setup? Does it have multiple states? What version of DX do you have? I know of at least one DX script--Object.SetScript--that does not work for older versions (pre 3.2)

Hmm. Are these images included anywhere in your theme/widget/object? Unless they're included somewhere (Custom files, or attached to an object state,) DX won't copy them to the object directory where you can use the short form "YinYangImage.bmp". Otherwise, you would need to use the full path, e.g., "C:\YinYangImage.bmp"

Two reasons, I guess: the mods/admins have not had the time to remove them yet, and the authors have not taken the time to update/remove them, either. I agree that it's problematic, though; not majorly so, but problematic nonetheless. I've seen maybe three or four new users asking about broken weather widgets.

Thanks Mike. I found out on littleboy's post that DX4 uses a different folder location for all the content, so I still have my plugins in the old folder; copied them over and all is right again.

I never liked the sidebar from day 1 and have not used it since. Yes. DX is still useful, primarily as an easy-to-use mini-app maker with which I regularly make productivity gadgets for my own personal use. Aside from those, I use clocks and weather. Popularity is another matter, and, I think, more to your point. DX is certainly not for everyone. Even if it was designed that way initially, the reality is not everyone can make it do much more than clocks, weather, or calendars.

I believe once you run a widget/etc. it will then show up in the list. So that's probably how they got there. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like Infinity and Steampunk are included, though!
(hopefully along with a changelog ) .
That would be helpful.
No widgets in the import dialog. Only objects. We used to have a widget section there......
As far as I can tell, they're all listed together now, objects, widgets, and gadgets. I kinda like that--not having to switch between two lists--but there should be something to denote which is which.

Thanks for this post Littleboy; I've been trying to find where the DX folder is, never would have thought to look in Public (?!). I have the same issues already mentioned. Silica weather is still included in widgets Accept Drag and Drop still not working after export Aside from the switch up in folder locations and the r-click on desktop to create new object, I'm not seeing anything new. --- Windows Vista Ultimate, Se
The load desktop dialog box contains only the desktops that come with DX. None of my desktops are there. They are in the directory, but not in the dialog box, which means I have to browse to the DX directory to load. This remains true even after I save desktop as....still not there. Anyone else having this trouble?
Yeah, all my stuff is gone from the load desktop dialog as well as the import dialog. Plus, where
