There must be something obvious that I am overlooking. The AI put me in a part of the galaxy where I could only nab 4 planets with my colony ships. I was building my own ships, but in the beginning, even though you can equip the largest hull with a colony module, how do you get enough engines on it (including life support, which isn't an available tech yet) to extend your reach? Wazup? BTW, pls don't flame me. I am a relative newbie.

I remember using "cloak" when I was playing Earth & Beyond (don't get me started on E&B..). In this game, however, you can build a ship that is so fast, that it might as well be cloaked. I am frequently attacked, seemingly out of nowhere, by other civs (whose ships just pop up on the screen from the ether). Make sense?

Thank you for the reply! The good problem is that the ship will not respond to any "move" command. It will not move by selecting it with a right click, then left clicking in the target "home" area. It only gives me a pop-up message stating that the crew is in stasis; instructs me to put it on autopilot, and that it will eventually move back to an area within my range. Why can't I move that ship? How do I put it on autopilot?

Finding an immersive game is more than satisfying for many of us. This will probably sound like I don't have a life, and I only speak for myself. As a person who is home-bound, it is a treat to find a great game and to have the opportunity of making friends with other like-minded space sim enthusiasts.

This newbie can't figure out a solution to this problem. My survey ship (the one given to me at start-up) was transported via wormhole to distant galaxy. It is now stuck there, even though I have researched advanced life support (I thought it would automatically enable my "crew" to "wake-up" from stasis). I can't upgrade the ship and it is no where near any sphere of influence or another civs "territory." Am I correct to believe that it is just stuck their ad nauseum. What's a leader of a p

I have been playing for about 3 weeks now and have a strategy question. I know I automatically will go to war with any civ whose ship I destroy, but if a colony ship, for example, is in my sector, (obviously trying to get to "my" planets), I have been destroying them. Eventually, I am at war with someone. Some back off and offer a peace treaty, but others keep coming. I don't go into their boundaries. Could someone comment on this strategy. Should I protect the planets I intend to colonize
