I know funny little story about what good and evil is, explains very well what you observed: "I saw a very cool movie today: Star Wars. It is Good versus Evil." "Oh? And how do you know who is good and who evil?" "Quite simple: You know the evil guys because there are lots of them, they always attack from ambush, but they almost always miss. On the other hand, the good guys are just a few, they only shoot back, but they almost always hit their targets." "So in other wo

M opinion: Evil suits me best, for the following reasons: - I can always pick the evil choice in ethical events. Always choosing evil and then going "good" seems like cheating to me, even if it is allowed by the game - assuming you research the ethics line first (which is no problem in my experience) you get in decreasing order of importance 1. a 100% economy bonus from Mind Control Center 2. the evil weapons, which are at least as powerful as the good defen

You need good weapons? There is an easy and good fix for that: BE EVIL Psyonic beam is a really much better weapon than nano rippers, and it is not topped in efficiency by anything below Doom Ray, not even Disruptors III. Also, you get top-notch military production due to Artificial Slave Center and a booming economy by brainwashing your subjects with Mind Control Center. Sure, no

I've been wondering if the hyper computers being in the end of the missile tech branch is actually a typo in the XML file I don't think so... read the tech description when you research Aereon Missile Defense. It is described there as a hugely complex system combining droid sentries, point defense and Electronic Countermeasures. The networking

I did some more testing, and I'll concede that the weapon type specialization seems to work better than I thought at first... in two games most AI's went for beam, but in the third it was pretty well distributed. I guess the first two were just chance after all. But another thing I just noticed: In one of these games where I had the AI's battle it out, in the end first the Iconians and then the Torians successfully researched Technology victory, however there was no defeat triggered f

I just tried out the new patch. In general, I think much has been improved a lot, but a couple of things did nag at me. To see how the AI would play with the changes, I made a game with gigantic galaxy, lots of planets, rather slow research, no tech trade. I played the Thalans (computer players at intelligent), but I just observed really... uncovered fog of war and then stuck with a single planet so I wouldn't get in the way of the AI's and let them fight it out. My observa

Before you start in about pacifists and other people who would refuse to fight keep in mind your not talking about one country invading another here, your also not talking about a planet being invaded by people like you. Your talking about your planet being invaded by 12 foot tall beasts, horrible cybernetic killing machines, sq

Evil civs attack to enslave you. Good ones attack thinking they'll be making life easier for you because they're way of life is so much better This distinction simply doesn't hold up. In GalCiv2's system of ground combat, there are unfortunately neither non-combatants on the defending side (which is

It gives you a 100% economy ability bonus. That means that it affects all your planets. Which means that it will nearly double your taxes Quite correct. This one building doesn't do what is said in the description, but the economy bonus makes it by far the best building in the game. I mean, it almos
