I think so. I'm on painful I think, which is IIRC the final difficulty level before the AI starts cheating. Nonetheless, they all pick mass drivers (they do in 90% of my games) so I pick missiles. One of them has recently started using point defense on his ships though, which has to be a reaction to me. Strange thing is, he's my ally....I suspect something. NB- If I am wrong, and he's not planning an attack which I have deviously predicted, I will be disappointed.

Should be a simple one- in battle of the gods games (where all techs are researched at the start) the AI still builds research buildings and tech capitals etc. Presumably they are also diverting part of their tax income to research too. They continue to value trade goods that boost research too, and mine research resources. Even wierder- remember the issue with tech trading in normal games, where all the AI end up using the same weapon type? They do that in battle of the gods too, des

Is it in any way possible to get different versins of the mod that only add certain hull types? As a guy with fairly low system specs, clicking on extras for the first time usually takes about 2 mins each game. After that its fine. Since I only ever use the blank hulls, terran or drengin styles, is it possible to alter the install to only add those and the blanks?

Yeah, I actually had tech support in mind when I chose it. Drivers are 100% up to date, so no chances there. If the fog and grids seem to be caused by me having an old graphics chip that doesn't support everything, then fine. I can accept that. Distortion is different, so thank you very much for that. When (roughly) will we get the next update?

AngleWyrm- 1hp? Cool ship, but putting weaps on a cargo hull is an old schoolboy error. I did it for my first few games and couldn't work it out... I always name mine eg Tie Fighter MkII etc. I've made models of most starwars ships that I just upgrade. Thank you, Kyro's hull mod.

Moving the camera about can make certain sectors gain and lose grids/fog, but I've never worked out why it selects the ones it does. Regardless, I never get a complete screen with several sectors. The blue circles around starbases also go very faint. @mikeswi Info warfare isn't enough though. You shouldn't have to kill everyone, nor should you have to miss out on the option for invasion tactics just to make a handful surrender. I don't think a checkbox to disable ethical questions would be too hard. After all, the AI don't get them, so it'd be fairer. I'd like to see a few more too- I don't give a damn if they use the same pictures, just broaden things a bit. More options in general would be nice, I guess. How many

I use the default view, at least I think I do, I get it by pressing 2 on the keyboard. If I ever pan round to admire ships, I always take it back to that view afterwards. I'm not using the keyboard to pan or zoom AFAIK, I might have pressed a button by mistake, but I don't even know what the keyboard shortcuts are. DIsappearing fog and grid lines has always happened from day one, with default everything. It's easier to live with than egg-shaped stars though. oooh, a bit mor

This is a recurring bug it seems, and while I have no idea what caused it, it seems to happen when I'm winning. The view locks into this wierd, distorted viewpoint, and while I can still pan around, zoom etc as normal, I can't get it back to any normal view. (pressing 2, 3 etc simply reset it to how you see in the screenshot.) The fog and grid not showing up in half the screen is also a bug, but that happens all th

It's not because you trash the standing army that you hold the planet. A substantial part of the population might go into a resistance, making planetary invasions a very tedious undertaking. Starting over with a clean slate (except for those peeps you bribed into joining you) by slaying everyone is an option Problem is, it's the only option. I

I'll make it clear at the start that I actually really enjoy this game, and I admire what the stardock team are doing to support it. That said, I also want to provide feedback on what really needs to be fixed. I've looked around and so hopefully I'm not repeating the same points as everyone else. My biggest annoyance is planetary invasions- why do you have to wipe out every last citizen? The whole influence thing shows that the populace can be flipped to another allegiance, nobody is

Am I the only one who spends most of my time clicking end turn? Apart from when I'm at war, everything moves on autopilot, I change production orders occasionally and I oversee the economy with a benevolent eye. Bizarrely, it's still fun. Even so, what does everyone else get up to in the early game?

It would be incredibly nice if we could have some different explosions as an option in the next patch. As it is, they engulf an entire planet, and despite looking cool, they make my game chug more than anything else out there. I can't see the point in disabling point sprites on EVERYTHING just so that explosions work, and disabling explosions makes battlewinners harder to notice. If there was a simple replacement available that would be perfect. Heck, even a speech bubble with BANG writen in it

The fog of war is really annoying me. It displays more or less correctly, but if there is more than one sector on-screen then usually only one or two will display fog of war, the others will just have a starry background. Searching the site confirms that I'm not the only one with this problem. It makes it impossible to tell what is within sensor range and what isnt, without scrolling around madly until the desired sector shows fog. I'm running the patch 1.11, and I don't think it's a

The update will fix it? AWESOME. I love this game already. ...wait. 17mb download? Can anybody say dialup? I'll have to beg a friend to get it for me. @moosetek- good point about the audio actually, that might explain what heppened with another game. But I use SP1 for two reasons- firstly there's loads of chumps who've had trouble with it and secondly: Dialup again.

It's me again. Having been told that the game would run fine with my system, but not at the best possible performance, I went off and got it. Installed fine, started a game, stared in bewilderment at all the buttons for a while. Everything was running nicely (love the planets and stars, very pretty) but after about 15 mins it crashed, claiming my drivers for my graphics chip were responsible. Being pigheaded I just rebooted and everything worked fine for the next 4 hours or so, no slowdown or an

I'm perfectly willing to sacrifice top-end graphical effects. What I want to know is whether it will run smoothly with large maps, and the bare minimum of graphic options (enough to see nice planets and ships tho). I have a huge swapfile available so that's ok. Fool try out the demo and see if its works fine

I've looked at the system requirements, but past experience has taught me to ask if I have any doubts. System stats are 2.6Ghz, 256mb ram on XP. My graphics card is the built in Intel 82845G Extreme graphics (64mb). AFAIK it doesn't have T&L. Any comments greatly appreciated.
