While there can be 32 players max in a game, it would be suicidal IMO to have 32 people playing a multiplayer game. A bit of maths - even if all battles are auto resolved, it will take say an average of 5 minutes per turn later in the game x 32 means you would be waiting over 2 and a half hours between turns. And the game will last hundreds of turns. Netaddict's idea might work though.

That's weird, I've never had DEP on GalCiv before. Try looking at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875351, that shows you how to stop it doing that. Your pc not booting is nothing to do with the game, period.
I believe you need to do it online, as they obviously have no idea/information from gamestop on YOU personally. Besides the obvious fact that you stated one shouldn't forget that Stardock profits much more from a direct download copy than from retail. (I'm aware though that retail is important as well to get shelf presence)
But the main point still stands that they can't possibly give you a beta if they do

In response to 11, you probably are a superpower - this is more appropriate for the UK, who most definitely have politicians (*cough Conservative Party, UKIP, BNP *cough) who still think we are a superpower

I don't think that this would fit in to the lore. At the beginning of the game only the chanellers have the power of magic, and they can imbue this to other units if they wish. I suppose you could have defecting heroes that get tired of said channeler and go rogue. Anyway I expect it will be easy to mod in. Good modding systems are great - you want a unit in the game -> you mod the unit into the game.

Make sure you have the 'show pre-release versions' box ticked as well. See https://forums.elementalgame.com/363075

If you are doing the second beta in a few months (the first one is cloth map only so it won't affect this) you can see if this really is a problem and tell SD if it is (that's what betas are for).

Its an old argument, and been asked for many times before. I think the point is that either you spend ages on really complex and detailed campaigns (remember that Ironclad is a very small company - or at least they were when they made Sins) or you copout with a handful of games on different maps with a few cutscreens that really aren't worth the effort. They probably figured that seeing as Sins is designed as a skirmish game (quite a skirmish on some of the bigger maps!), it wasn'
