Basically it can happen, but is very rare - its a quirk of the random map generator thats been there since version 1.0. I've only ever once seen it in any of my games

A lot of the problems are not at Ironclad's end mind you. They're about to release a patch for sync problems as well. Why are you so obsessed with online play anyway? I played Sins for over six months on a pc not good enough for online play and still enjoyed it. ps. A minidump is not a crash, its a record of one - with the intention that you send the error report to (someone correct me if that address is wrong) so
LOL the last picture.
Register them on Impulse and get them updated for a start.
Aw.. Pity [e digicons]#:([/e] Never mind lol
On the elemental site the forums link is in grey as if the link doesn't exist yet (although the link does work) unlike all the other tabs, which are white. First bug report for Elemental [e digicons][/e] and we are six months from the beta. Do I get a prize? [e digicons]O:)[/e]
To give a comparison, Empire Total War was announced September 07 or there abouts, 18 months before its release next year. Elemental was announced this month, approx 16 months before planned release date (I won't tempt fate by asking how final that date is [e digicons]:X[/e] ) As for Starcraft 2, it was announced 18 months ago and will probably be out sometime in the next century if we are being optimistic. Basically a developer announ
They put time-travel in. Why, oh God, WHY?!
Oh come on there's umpteen ST plots with time travel in (think ST IV and First Contact for a start). I reckon that this will be a bit of a Batman Begins / Casino Royale sort of film - liked by a wider audience but hated by hardcore fans. Basically though they had a choice between something like this or ditching it. The demise of Enterprise shows that 'aut
Come on, we all know what the game after Elemental is... Or should that be, we all hope what the game after Elemental is... GalCivIII time :-)
A minidump is not a crash in itself, its a record of what went wrong. Send the file to with and they should be able to stop it happening again.
In Britain we sort of have a three party system but one hasn't been elected for about a century. There's nothing saying that we have to have two or three parties or whatever but it seems to have settled into a two and a half party system
As far as the game goes, I guess I'll wait for more info. The idea looks very interesting, particularly the mod broadcasting.
Definitely. Let SD do their thing and wait expectantly for the release (and the betas of course)
Obama's won Dixieville Notch with over 70% of the vote. Admittedly there were only 21 people voting, but stil...
From what you said about what you like/dislike, I think that you're more of a GalCiv than a SoaSE player. Galactic Civilisations II is turn-based like Civ and the TW campaigns, while SoaSE is an RTS. Both are published by Stardock, although SoaSE was developed by an independent firm (Ironclad) in cooperation with SD as opposed to being made by SD itself. I have both...
Can I point out that mines are invisible to the attacker unless he has a scout. So if you take out their scouts then you can watch satisfyingly as a cap goes straight into one and is crippled
You'll do fine even on really big maps provided you don't have the graphics settings at max. Sins is capable of running on really low-end computers - I originally (before I got a really good laptop) had it on a 1.99GHz single core PC with only 512MB RAM and a crappy 5700VE Graphics card. It lagged a bit in battles but was still playable.
I think some ppl kind of thought this was SD/IC trying to take money off fans for a glorified patch. But seeing as a full expansion pack usually costs around $30 anyway, you're getting effectively more than a third of an expansion (in terms of the stuff involved) for a third of the price of a full expansion. I mean, would you rather have the entrenchment stuff now or when they've finished the others? Any comparison to what Blizzard is doing
Endless universe is not another expansion pack, its the european release of the two expansion packs. There won't be another expansion pack sold, but provided you have your game registered and have impulse, you'll be able to get a free update in a few weeks with almost as many features as a full expansion
A bit of ToA, but mostly Civ IV Conolization, the reason being that I've promised my parents that I won't be taking any game disks with me to uni. I'm trying to finish all my games before I go. What I haven't told them is that ToA and SOASE don't need disks [e digicons]*_*[/e]
I think EA have finally realised that there's a problem - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7628962.stm - and its about time. I bought Spore on release day, fully in the knowledge that DRM wouldn't affect me - I've only got one computer to put it on. I think that it's sad that such a good game has been marred by this debacle over copy protection. It wasn't Maxis' fault that EA put DRM on it, and ruined the reputation of a game that had been worked
I'm for... Ocean's 12 (although 13 is better) Son of the Mask At Worlds End Star Trek V As for the infamous Phantom Menace, as far as I'm concerned it wouldn't have been too bad if a. no Jar Jar, b. better actor for Anakin (the bit when he's in the space battle ruins the rest of the film) and c. less dawdling on Tatooine (where nothing happens for about half an hour except a pointless race) As for games, I think thi
Post this to the bug reports section and give details of version, error messages, what you were doing at the time, etc and hopefully one of those nice people at Stardock will look into it for you.
Following on from gherardo, when playing a game as Krynn against, amongst others, the Korx and the Korath, it is impossible to distinguish on the stat graphs at the bottom of the screen which line refers to which race. Its not so bad on the main screen (culture borders are easily distinguishable), but on the graphs its a nightmare
First piece of advice - get the new expansion pack (Twilight of the Arnor) online. Turns a great game into an incredible game.
My personal request for v2.0 is about zooming on the minimap - there is a big jump between fully zoomed out and the close up ones - I keep wanting something in between...if that's not too much to ask [e digicons]:\[/e]
