Limit on tech amounts? in Modding GalCiv2 Forums

Is there a way to get around the limit of 26 technologies in a branch of the technology tree? I spend a day and a half making a program that could make lots of new weapons and technologies at random, the application works well but DL wont let any more than 26 technologies in a single branch of the tree, the leftovers are placed in a whole new branch without any technology requirements... Help?
