I am wondering about how this will affect diplomacy. I have looked through the thread and I might have missed something, but here it goes. In vanilla, it was pretty simple. If an alien species asked you the following: "These are my pink bunnybears who populate my fifth moon. Aren't they cute?" "I am here to discuss the matter of interstellar trade. Can we form a mutual agreement?" "Hey, I got some tasty babies I barbecued. Want a bite?" You can kind of se

I wouldn't mind them if the mechanic for them appearing was different, actually, the name would probably be the only thing intact, but this is what I think: If a planet's approval hits 30% or lower, the chance exists a new minor faction might take over, based on what ideology the player the player isn't using (if you go for all trees it will be completely random). Jagged Knife is the "malevolent" one, while the other two represents Benelovent and Pragmatic. It will start off hostile b

This is awesome! Love the four ability limit, offers more space for defined personalities. The Daleks will be tons of fun in-game, especially now with custom dialogue! Minor issues: Three of the factions have "the" in the name, which causes some text to cause the old "the the" issue. It's also a bit odd seeing it. Aren't other factions... themselves? The Orion Star Republic seem to have no points used.

Heya, I am making a bunch of civs, which I improve with added ship designs whenever I feel like it. This may take a while but I prefer to put work into what I do, and not just release some hastily thrown together garbage like what plagues the workshop at the moment. Shots fired! Currently, I am working mostly on a species I call the Gesserki. They were inspired by a bad run-in I had with bureaucracy at it's worst. The Gesserki have a society built entirely around an extremely

I downloaded a civ, looked it over and thought it wasn't made well enough so I deleted it. Next thing I get is thousands of messages telling me that every single shipstyle is unavailable because their content all went with the civ I removed. All of them. I could solve the issue with "verify integrity of game files" but it's still a major pain in the ass each time it happens, and if you go through the workshop, you'll run into more badly made civs than good ones. This and the previous

Star Control races is something I have been looking forward to seeing since Stardock own both properties, so crossovers is a given. Looks good so far!

-Discreet, Vigilant and Warrior are listed twice. -Removing a downloaded custom civ gives an error message that the contained shipstyle doesn't work, as shipstyle is kept on disc while ships are removed. This create another problem that is far more annoying than the error message itself: every custom race with a custom ship style have their style reset to arcean. Holy crap, is this ever annoying!

I heard in a stream talk about hardcoding credits into creations to avoid content stealing. Theft doesn't seem to be a problem right now and the community is fairly civil (if you avoid real world political or religious-based factions) so I don't think it will be a widespread problem even without the credit inclusion thing, just an annoyance. Trust me, I doubt it will ever be as vile as what happened in Spore where theft and downvoting made the online community intolerable.

Excellent mod! I wonder if it's possible, and this is perhaps stretching it a bit, but randomize descriptions. By structuring sentences it would be possible to randomize the text into something different for each. It would perhaps be a bit goofy, but that's the charm! Edit: As I was updating it for the new images, I kept running into this problem when booting up the game: C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Mods\Minors\Game\FactionDefs_New.xml(1606,12): error: inval

This was not called execution. it was called promotion. Liking the idea so far. As long as super abilities that wipe out fleets etc are expensive enough. Finishing techs should also be an expensive endeavour as some techs are game changing, such as ship sizes. Some of these could make for good story telling, such as a commander ramming his ship loaded with nukes into the enemy. "Crunch Time" made me chuckle a bit. I believe some

Ever wanted to build a ship bigger than a huge one? I have, and such ships would make combat certainly more interesting, but how would it be balanced, and how would it work with tech speeds? Well, they wouldn't work like most ships, not exactly. These ships would require administrators, and even bigger than right above huge might need more. They wouldn't act like your average warship but as super weapons that could potentially turn the tide of war but require a whole lot of ti

Those are some badass shipsets. You really got their style distinctive yet made ships different enough to have their own personality. That is hard to pull off, and I feel you did it really well! The Caimanoids are my favorite. I love how such a weird source of inspiration could pull something so awesome.

I can see some improvement from your earlier work. I liked the first batch, but they sort of had a stylistic consistency, sort of if they might be related remotely (which is not a bad thing btw). The more humanoid ones here show a more varied style which is a big plus. Great as always mate. Keep up the good work!

For patch compatibility and for those using other mods, I would make any changes outside of the diplomacy screens optional.
