Not a bug per se, but the quantum driver tech is worthless. The graviton driver IV has better damage/size ratio than quantum driver III, never mind II and I. I suppose this is a side-effect of the minituarization bugfix.. Various tech tree paths should be checked to ensure the never and shinier is in fact better. QD issue happens when you have researched most of th

The planet city lights have been improved for version 1.3. The latest beta includes this improvement. You will be able to notice more lights if you turn down your Ambient Light setting in the Options screen. sometimes for low population planets you may have to zoom in close to see them better.
In this game I'm doing, I just had a random event bug. The Iconians got that good/evil alignment flip random event, BUT, these guys are long dead. It's the latest beta patch and I'm doing challenging difficulty if that would help. I also got a memory leak earlier with this game and I had it once before with a different game (but same patch)
I think the AI does it manually because if they were on autoexplore, you'd see the same notice below the ship as it does for the human player's ships.
yea it's something thats known for a while, has something to do with the AI pathing since they kind of end up following each other trying to go to the same unexplored area. I just make sure that I send the scouts to a far away area and have it explore from there and if two scouts are ending up on the same path, I send one off some ways in another direction towards an unexplored area. Also, to kind of help fix that when you first send them out, when you make your first scout ship just se
um, what would the point be of multiple starports on a planet? all the starports do is allow you to build ships, the production comes from your factories. With the way it works, you only need one starport. Perhaps you could explain the reasoning behind your idea and how you think it would work? Besides you can still only produce one ship at a time, just like you can build only one structure at a time. In a Real Time Strategy game this would work with multiple barracks,
just pressing any button on your keyboard works too.
yea the Epic Generator is very well along and looks cool! the race logo on the red ship looks like it might be the Drengin race logo, just upside down and at an angle so it's hard to see. But still, it could easily be a custom logo I'd also like to know more about the new planet habitatibility sys
only problem is that the ship bieng 'upgraded' is vulnerable for one turn. Although once I had an enemy attack a fleet that was bieng upgraded, but the armor was already adapted to what the enemy was using and that protected my ships, either that or sheer luck. The other thing is the cost, because high end ships would be more expensive, and so you have to pay for each time you do it. However that cash could be used for other things such as buying new ships or something. An exp
and this multiplayer thing for GalCiv2 is a dead horse that has been beaten for a while.
ok, I apologize for the noob comment. Still, you won't be able to use this modded version for metaverse games, although if you don't play metaverse, then no prob. Also there are probably various parts of the AI that you can't modify that are connected to the starbases, so you might see strange behavior even with the added range and trade bonuses because on huge and gigantic maps, there are limits to how far you can go even without starbases.
hello! without constructors you wouldn't be able to use the mining resources and each type of starbase is essential to how the game works. I can't believe someone would be such a noob to think this
I'm not sure about the music question, but I can help you with the trade one. While distance does figure into it, it also figures into the relation of the PQ and population of the planet the route starts from and the destination planets PQ and population. So if you have a planet thats further away, but is a lower quality and lower population than one thats closer but has a high population and PQ, you will get more money from the closer one because of the higher PQ and population. At lea
thats part of the price of bieng in debt. Just find some way to adjust the balance so that you are out of debt, selling old techs to other races for cash can help you get out of debt.
you mean United Planets though, not UN. The vote things are entirely random and you can't submit anything to vote for. Sometimes an item will come up again for revote, but its random. And leaving the UP means that you can ignore the UP laws, but at a price, you can't make trade routes with anybody, which is bad for your economy if you don't have the capacity to make up for it. And once you leave the UP, you can't come back in.
huh? stupid junk post
they will probably be renamed, but space truck sounds like something rugged
oh so thats what it is. I just ran into this and was confused myself. thanks for the info.
well for one, the Demo is pretty outdated while there have been several patches to the game already and the demo lacks stuff thats in the main game.
try doing a search through your whole computer. Assuming you have Windows XP, go to My computer, click on the search button at the top, click all files and folders, type .ini in the 'All or part of the file name:' box, make the 'look in:' selection My Computer or probably my documents but you can try both, and click search.
seems very wierd since I've never been able to get the AI to sell me any planets and the AI wouldn't allow ALL of its planets to be sold unless it was braindead or something. has to be some kind of bug.
yea I wish it would work the way it says it's suppoused to, although that might actually be too powerful because even though you'd still have to do the work of placing influence starbases, it would cause a wave of planetflipping to go through like wildfire.
doesn't look like its anything else other than that, but the thing is that the latest full patch which is 1.2 will have many fixes including various crash fixes and so the best thing to do is to see whether just doing the patch fixes it and then seeing if its your system.
I don't remember a video which shows a ship going over an ocean either. And that minor race stealing tech event just shows a small ship approaching a planet.
yea the list on both sides of the diplomacy window is a little sensitive to clicking too fast or holding the mouse button down for a few seconds. So you might either have a mouse thats a little sensitive or you're clicking a bit fast. It's happened to me before, so its really just what you are doing with the mouse than a bug.
