We should (instead) start treating mental illness the same as any other form of illness. Maybe if we had (decades ago), the Aurora tragedy might never have happened (and so many others).... and a brilliant mind might have been saved to contribute who knows what to the world? I don't like fear mongering to promote hidden agenda (http://www.lifesitenews.com/message).
People with mental illness should be tre

Apple IIe - paid about $3,000 for it. (1982 I think) We used to have a small computer club that took donated computers and got them all cleaned up and running then gave them to mostly shut ins and specially needs folks. It was called "The Black Smoke Computer Club" The president said that computers ran on black smoke and if the smoke escaped they quit running. Poor old IIe died of just that. Some capacitor or something wore out and started smoking. Since it was soldered to the board t

In our area. Everyone else (DSL) 15mb top, Charter 25mb for the same price as the DSL. Service has been running non-stop for over 10 years. I switched from business to private somewhere in there because I wasn't doing enough online work to make it worth it (and they never change the IP anyway so I could keep a web server without DNS routing) At the time I asked if they needed the modem back as it had died long before and I had to buy another (rather than wait for Monday to pick up a

Since you brought up the question of size, and since I don't know where else to ask... I hope you don't mind me saying, but I've always wondered this. If artists put circles around gal's what-nots, then why don't they put circles around men's uh-hems. If the circles are to make it easier to see them, then men must have bad eyesight. Uh-hems are a lot harder to see than what-nots and women need all the help they can get to see them. (inspi

You need to either turn off all Firefox skins or tell WindowBlinds to ignore Firefox completely (there are some other settings besides completely, but they take a while to figure out at first) I have found some Firefox skins that I have used, but usually there are color and found b

For mail I use Pegasus Mail. Good old carry over from the DOS days, much improved. They currently are working on some type of contact card system (I don't use contact cards so I am remiss about knowing) For me, I appreciate that I can micro-manage any incoming mail based on filters for all types of things using ANY header value - including wild cards. I can instantly delete naughty words or disliked people (their email) and read MIME digests (Listserv produces MIME digests if requested) A
Yahoo Mail is my only active mail mailbox. I can lo longer access my Windows mail account. I use it for everything and the only spam I get is mailings from places I have signed up for and this is the first time it's been hacked since 2007. That said, what do some of you recommend if I was to get a secondary mailbox,or replace my primary one? It seems they all can be hacked eventually, given enough time.<br /

I think that someone left something out of the program. I was installing a couple programs from SC that were actually already installed but didn't show up on the list. While it did its thing I was working with my personal (as opposed to junk and email lists) email and all of a sudden my computer rebooted. No warning, just a reboot as the SC seemed to be done with something. My computer never reboots blind for any reason, at least not up to now. I am a little upset that it did it while my

You keep saying "big feet" and I have been playing was too much LOTRO lately... Big feet + LOTRO = Hobbits (they're kinda short and dumpy though) Don't you ever name your computers? Nevermind, I'm going back to bed now.
The shelf the Case sits on is about an inch off the ground and the case is elevated a bit over an inch by the feet, so I'm not concerned about that. There's about an inch either side and the desk is about 5 inches off the wall, so it has reasonable ventilation. However, I do plan to lift the desktop lid so I can drill that series of holes in the shelf just above the top fans... of course pulling out the tower first to avo

I know it won't fix that. It was an argument about why a gadget would be better than all the other stuff someone with a mental illness goes through. Where I used to work I would say half of the people we admitted were off of their meds. They got to feeling well and kinda forgot to take them for a while. This was long term depression to schizophrenia and all steps in between. Once they were there for a bit and back on their meds they were another person altogether. Sometimes in as short as

I think sometimes the older the machine and less memory it has the more prone all this fanciness is to that type of failure. I am also of a firm believe that some icons are just plain broke. There are ones that are not formatted correctly and they cause problems. A cure for that is to save the icon in another format (like jpg to png to gif) and then save it back to original and see if the file size changed. Some graphics programs save everything when exporting to a simple graphic instead of j
