Actually its all about common sense and reasonable expectations. When I first heard about Sins being an RT4X, I instantly knew that real-time would cost the 4X aspect a lot of depth since it is simply not reasonable to have a research tree huge like a redwood or planet surface structure management or ship building in a real-time scenario because thats either not handable or would lead to never-ending real-time games because of a very slow pace. Therefore I think Stardock and Ironclad di

I for my part like TAC and Vasuni more than Advert :D But back to topic. I have read a lot of threads with titles like "Advent overpowerd" or "Vasari RA too strong" and such stuff but for my part I think the game is well balanced. Advent may have pretty good ships which actually is okay since TEC simply can by more (due to better economy) and Vasari gets them for free (RA). So in my opinion it's a little shortsighted to state Advent are best simply because they have strong ships.
Maybe you guys are all too young or too fast for the game?! I agree, it could be a little faster in early game phase when you have to manage 1 fleet and a few planets. But that's true for most RTS games since you simple do not have that much resources, buildings, units (whatsoever) to manage. In Sins late game I find myself pretty much in trouble keeping the management of 30+ colonies, 6-8 different fleets fighting at all ends of the 5 star universe in line. So my suggestion is
I have played MoO2 for years, tested MoO3 only once and found it aweful. However assuming that MoO2 does not differ that much from MoO2 I would say the following: 1. Sins is RTS and MoO3 is turn based. That leads to the following aspects: - You do not have endless time for each decision therefore Sins has less depth in Diplomacy, Intelligence and Research. Time consuming aspects such as Ship Design do not even exist. - Sins is much more suitable for Multiplayer Games because it
I know, I know: When the Minidump dialog pops up, it tells you where the Minidump file (which actually is the log file for the crash) has been stored on your computer. Send this file along with a dxdiag log file (execute "dxdiag" in a command line and click "Save all information") to [email protected] and the guys from customer support are going to help you.
Actually I don't believe that, even more I know that in most cases this is not true. Unfortunately software tends to behave differently on different systems and for support teams it is practically impossible to look at a log file and some system specs and tell "I see, this combination of CPU, graphics driver and OS update version may cause the issue" because the number of combinations (hardware and software) is almost endless. But nevertheless, no need to argue, you are right to at leas
That may sound odd but I have worked through all the Troubleshooting guides available on these forums and since nothing worked I am convinced that my problem is not a configuration issue but a game issue. Thus the customer support won't be able to help me anyway except a statement like "We'll try to search and fix it". But you are right, I should at least take my chances :CONGRAT: So I will reinstall the game, collect a few minidumps and send them to Ironclad.
Thanks, I suspected that kind of answer. Downloading the standalone patch 1.03 is not the problem but since I downloaded the game using StardockCentral and did not archive the game on patch level 1.03 (since doing that would mean that I actually expected the next patch to be worse) it seems that I have to stick with not playing Sins until next patch. I am not playing online anyway so it would not make a difference for me playing 1.03. I would even play 1.0 if possible but installing the
Okay my Original Post might have sounded like a blame-post which it was not intended to be. So sorry about that, but my questions remain open and I would appreciate answers especially to question 2 since that has been the stable build for me and I would like to continue playing until issues might be fixed with a further patch. Another suggestion comes to my mind that might help to increase customer trust: What about a pinned post in technical forum where officials shortly list (and
Hi everybody, I have been reading the forums (especially Technical) since a few weeks and the experience in the forum as well as my personal experience with SoaSE have shown that actually things got worse with patch 1.04. I've never had any crashes with version 1.03 but since I updated to 1.04 I can't play 10 minutes without getting a "minidump". However that leads to a few questions: 1. Did anybody observe the same and probably has a solution? 2. Is th
