Then you can send a PM to Purge or myself (or any of the admin's) to get yourself access to our private forums.
I actually can't do this....I've just been sending people to Technican for this as he is on pretty much everyday. I suspect that we, collectively, have done as much or more analysis in our private forums on maximizing points as anyone else as well.
That shouldn't happen with the latest beta, as I changed the way that games were saved so that it saves to a temp file first, then moves the AutoSave to the PreviousAutoSave. Good to hear you guys are working on this. I've learned to deal with it since it's something farily predictable and has been a problem since day 1. I can get an out-of-memory error when saving after just a few hours during a heavy invasion. However,

Naota Reign has the right of it. I would suggest some stock markets as well, if you don't do super breeders. Without super breeders, you can't skip over the economic hump the same way and you will need some additional help getting into the clear.
There was lots, I just need some more practice. What does the MCC do? I am not able to find it in the manual.
Cool! The MCC adds 100% to your economic bonuses. Think of it as two and a half fully built out economic resources and you are in good shape.

It's worth noting that every player can build an SCC, so it's possible to have more than one in the game if you capture one, after having already built your own (works just like shrinkers or manu/econ capitals). I've had three or four before in a single game.
Purge you are a genius, thank you for all the tips! I tried your strategy on crippling and I was so owned :/ But perhaps someday I too will be able to win a suicidal game.
Keep trying! Hopefully there were still a couple of useful take aways!

Yes, but weres the fun i joining a hugh empire where ur just another member? Other than loathing what cell phones have done to the typed language, I basically agree here. I don't agree (big surprise! ) Even in a big empire, like ours, there aren't usually a huge number of players active on the forums or private threads....Meaning it's easy to be a no

At least some empires are open and you don't need an explicit invitation to join. All you have to do is go to the empire homepage off the listing of empire ranks and click join empire. The Galactic Diplomats for instance! We accept anyone who wants to join. The only rule is that you have fun. GW, Emperors can send out an e-m

There is still a place for fleets. When you are attacking an enemy fleet that you can't destroy in one turn with a single ship and some of your ships will survive to the next round of combat, it may make more sense to use a fleet. In addition, the strongest ship always survives if two ships mutually destroy each other(one on each side), so if the AI has a stronger, mostly offensive ship, you want to put enough ships into a fleet to have a minimum of two survivors and hit him wit

The relationships at friendly is why you can't get them to declare war on other races...It's simply too high. Are you playing DA? You might be seeing the affect of the Drath superability. They can pretty much get anyone to declare war on you and if you are at war with them, they will use it. If you are under DA, you might need peace with the Drath to keep the others from re-declaring war. I would definitely try to get those races that aren't currently part of the war into i

Ha. You probably know exactly where I used to live. I was a block and a half off Burlingame ave. on Lorton. Although I'm only a bay area resident for the last twelve years or so, not a lifer like you or my wife. I have to say that putting in the Apple store down there really changed the feel of the Burlingame ave stretch. The building is fine, individually, but it's just too modern for the neighborhood. After it came in, a bunch of prada look alike stores seemed to open...The boom of the l

Brisbane (CA) has been pretty much been merged into the mega city at this point. All the little towns between San Francisco and San Jose all still technically exist, but they are really part of "The Bay Area" or "The Peninsula" if you want to specify what part of the bay area. I currently live in Mountain View (one of those towns, but still fairly well known) and I used to live in Burlingame (another one of those towns, but no one has ever heard of it) only a couple of miles south of Brisbane.

On the other hand ive seen something about an orbital terraformer. what is this? And how do i get one? An orbital terraformer is a galactic wonder, requiring the last tile improvement technology to be researched. It automatically upgrades all planets in your Empire (And any you capture later) to utilize all the usable tiles. Unfortunatley, the Orbital Terraformer seems

I went for war/military themed stuff (Junta/Junta Clown/Belisarius Redux). Not very original, but I've been doing it for years. You can always dig up some ancient general that no one has ever heard of. I have a particular fondness for Belisarius. He was offered rulership of Rome and turned it down, using the offer to get them to open the gates of Rome so he could conquer it instead (and what does that say about my play style? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" bo

I just had to make a new post to see my shiny new third place medal. I had to dust it off a bit, but I'm sure Mag could have it back in an instant if he chose to post another game. Also for the moment I'm #1 in the AltMeta All-Universal category but that's sure to last all of 5 or 10

The default is for all buildings to autoupgrade to the best version available. Whenever a new building type becomes available, it simply changes whatever buildings of the old type that were in the queue to the new type and adds an upgrade to the bottom of the queue for any buildings that were previously finished. Soil/habitat improvements get added to the bottom of the list. Since "new" upgrades are always added to the bottom of the list, you should see them queued up in order of discovery, u

I was watching titan a.e last night and I was thinking if you guys are going to have terror stars for evil civs why not make a tech that creates a ship that can change dead planets into high pq planets for good civs like the titan in the movie. Terror stars aren't just for evil civs....Or are they?

There are some tings I'd do a bit differently, but those are probably the ones from your "uber cheese" category. Quite possibly. Plus, I've figured out a couple of "uber cheese" things I haven't seen float over the forums....In terms of people picking up useful play stuff, it seemed counter productive to include any of that though. I also wanted to put lie to the idea that you need cheese to win Suicidal. It's possible that someone might argue I used
