My game kept crashing on my laptop. However, when I finally got the lastest drivers for ATI, I don't have a problem. It is VITAL that you update your video drivers and then update your game by going to the stardock site.

I have taken over all of the white crystals found in space by building a star base on them. However, I see no benefit coming from these crystals. What is the purpose of these things, and what benefit am I supposed to get?

I have maxed out my diplomacy. Yet, I don't see any option in which I can form an alliance with someone. I will admit that all of the races are cool to me , and I wonder if that is the reason.

I just bought and suppedly downloaded Twilight of the arnor and extracted the information. I also updated Twilight using Stardock. However, I don't see a separate button for the expansion like we did with Dark Avatar. Am I doing something wrong?

I have Vista on my notebook. I am trying to edit out the target shortcut to say GC2DarkAvatar.exe" Cheat,but the computer keeps giving me an error message that I have the wrong target file. I also run as administrator. What should I do in order to allow the cheat codes for Vista? Please be specific. Thanks

Can you be more explicit as to what to type and what to edit for cheats? I try to add the word "cheat" after the quotations and I get an error message that I have the wrong target. Help

I have installed the Dread Lord Mod for GCII,dread lords, and it works well. However, I am trying to install it for DA and can't figure out how to do it. It is more than simply unzipping it into the mod folder. Any ideas?

Be careful about buying anything at Comp USA. They are closing stores all over the US and not honoring warranties, return policies or put in sneaky return policies burried in the receipt. For electronic items, I would go elsewhere.

I just bought (May 7th) a Dell 1710 notebook with kick ass graphics using 512 MB of NVidia Go force 7950. I have been hearing that DA may have some trouble with Vista. Some posters have said that this has been solved by fairly recent drivers. What is the story?

Some of the mods do note Dark Avatar or DA. Some,however, don't note this. How do we tell which mods will work with DA? Also, there is a "dark Lord" mod which allows us to play as Dark Lords. Does this work with DA? If so, how do I install it. I have added it to the mod file, the data file and still no effect.

Two questions: asteriod mining and mods in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

These are probably newbie questions,but I would appreciate any help here. 1. Regarding asteroid mining, how exactly is this done? Do I move the mining ship over the asteroid and click build or something? Do I have to wait a certain number of turns etc.? 2. How do I upgrade the mining facility? Do I move a new mining ship there? I can't seem to improve mining the same way as with contstructors and special modules. 3. How exactly do we install mods? I am confused. <b

I have been reading these forums. I can't seem to get the mods to work when I install them in the GCII/darkavatar/interface/addon directory. Also, how do we get the cheat codes to work? I can't seem to be able to place the word "cheat" after the Dalaunch.exe. What I am doing is to right click on the Dark avatar icon and then click on properties. I see the target for the launch, which ends with DAlaunch.exe in quote. I try to place the word 'cheat' outside the quotes. I get an error mess

When I play the game, I set military up as high as possible. I buy at least a scout and two colony ships and even a constructor. However, usually there is at least one other race that gets more planets and better quality planets than I. What am I doing wrong? How can I increase my planet acquisition over that of the other races?
