Fantastic, hopefully I'll see an email by the time I knock off and get home from work (about an hour and a half's time). Hope the download for Beta works better than my recently failed attempts at downloading Space Rangers 2 (yeah, yeah off topic!). Wooo Hoo well done Stardock! you guys rock! Thanks Yarlen, it has been extremely frustrating, as I really enjoyed the Demo and really wanted to hop into the main game but haven't had the chance due to the crazy download scenario.

Having a lot of problems downloading this game! Have entered the registration key and have sorted out the issues with Harddrive space (have redirected the install directory and download/temp files to my very empty E drive - 60 gig spare space). Have attempted to download the game twice now and have failed both times. I have now added stardock.com to my firewall list (this is about the only thing I can think is causing problems) and will have a crack at downloading/inst

This might sound like a stupid question, but will we be able to post Beta DA games to the metaverse? or will that provision come later? I ordered this sucker back in August, I can't wait to download this guy and get into it...better get one last Gig Uni game in before this comes along! Ras try stepping up the difficulty of the games you play. I normally only set one or two races at the higher CPU difficulty setting and leave teh others low, so that they become mop-up canon fodder for me once I have nailed the big guys (I usually choose the Iconians and the Drengin as my major bad guys and the rest I normally leave at around 'bright' or 'intelligent'. I'm pretty sure you don't get cheat flagged for going back and loading a previous save to complete a game, although only having it done once or twice, I am pretty sure a few of the games I have posted to the 'verse haven't accrued any type of 'cheat flag'. As for the problems you are having with the game, what version are you running? I have noticed over the last few days that my metaverse score seems to have been scaled down for some reason... Thanks again for the advice guys, that is in fact exactly what I ended up doing, and subsequently have recently posted a recent win taking me to 132nd in the verse, placing me 1 position higher than u Meglo, so brother if there was any motivation to finish that game, I have just given u another one, kick my a$$! It did, thanx Meglo, I am hoping that 1.4 helps out with the financial hiccoughs that can happen early game. Should make the game a little less frustrating over-all. Just finishing up my first Gigantic Maso level game, should post tommorrow - Stupid U.P voted to change all governments to Imperial for 2 years...Grrrr! Nope you aren't missing anything, What Dano13 was saying was that Iain normally sits down and writes a novel from go to woah in about 3 months and then normally takes the otehr 9-12 months off before he sits down to write anotehr book. Thanx Justin I will check those out. Yup Banks can push out those Skiffy novels pretty fast, although I don't know if it is quite 6 weeks, perhaps with some of his earlier books, but these days it seems to take him a good 2-3 months per book, but yes he certainly does tend to spend the rest of the year taking it easy and having fun...oh the life!

LOL, yep, Stardock should approach Banks about a Culture based game, it would be awesome. Steelmeister - I suggest you start with Consider Phlebas and go from there, Phlebas is at the beginning of the culture, before it had complete galaxy domination, pretty awesome stuff. I have had thoughts about kicking off a Gla Civ game with a culture based crew, but am too busy clocking up metaverse points ATM (wanna crack the top 100...)
