Yeah they just seem to have played games on massive maps and have managed to end with some bulked out tidy scores. Thanks for rounding that out for us a bit. It would seem that the difficulty level at which you have your opponents seems to affect the final score as well, i.e. if only one is selt at gifted the and the rest set much lower the score won't be as crazy as if more of your opponents are ranked at a higher level. Ah it's kinda a bummer to be removing that bug where the PC races load up their transports undercooked. I was enjoying having the altarian waste their precious civilians on my defended planets... Hmmm, Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I do kinda miss the fleet icon.
