The Human Factions mod is a mod for DL made by me that replaces the current races with present-day Earth countries, which you can download from the library. I am also in the process (kind of) of writing a back story, which you can find in the official mod forum . I have been trying to update the mod for DA, but RL has been rather hectic with exams and whatnot, and whilst it has calmed down now, I want to get this mod out A

Just to reassure everyone, I have been replying to all votes. And here is an alternative banner from the design studios of the Hitchhikers of the Galaxy: <img src="http://newaltmeta.thegalacticcore.com/sig/8917/1.png" title
Yes, but only after copying it to a safe place.
1.Open My Computer 2.Double Click C:, Program Files, Stardock, TotalGaming, GalCiv2, DarkAvatar, Data, English. 3.Copy and paste the file called 'GC2Types.xml' somewhere safe. 4.Unzip the download into C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\ 5.Click 'Yes' at any prompts. Hope that's simple enough for you .
I'm also making a post here so people can PM me easily . Good luck to all the candidates! <img sr
Good idea MottiKhan .
Again, sorry but no, that wouldn't work. I don't think there's any way to achieve what you want as it never occurred to the devs that someone would try to do it .
is it not possible to add the tag that the universities have to a ship module? will the code not accept that tag? It's because they're in different files, and the game doesn't parse all tags used by all files in every file (if that makes sense ).
It sounds a really great idea, but unfortunately I don't believe it's possible. The games just not moddable enough.
My character's name is Darkorange. So what do you do when in an empire? =D Just submit meta games as normal and the points will be added to the Empire total. <b
Welcome Aqua_Regia, hope you enjoy your stay . "The Korx are pursuing a cultural and economic strategy. They are currently researching Planetary Bombardment, for instance." I've had messages like that before . <a href="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=3
I've enrolled myself into the empire. What's the purpose of joining an empire? To create a community of like-minded players and compete with other Empires for the number 1 spot! And welcome to th
Maybe you could add it as a Starbase?
'Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy' is an Empire?? How do I join empires?? Btw, where can I see what are the requirements to obtain the different medals available in metervase? It's actually 'The Hitchhiker's of the Galaxy' and you are very welcome to join. To join any empire, just go to that Empire's page on the Metaverse (The Hitchhiker's is here ) and click 'Join Empire'. To s
Hmm, I wonder why no one else has gotten their things, not even jangerel? I will as soon as I pick up a passing ship on my Sub-Etha Sens-O-Matic, but it's been playing up recently. All of our members have been made senators, as per our discussions on the private forums at the Core. <a href="
Eighth to eighth? My, what an achievement . In unrelated news, we have moved from eighth to seventh on the AltMeta. Well done everyone . Also welcome to Merle and Mondo. <img src="http://www.tbsmodder.co.uk/images/hhofthegbanner.png"
I've had an idea as well . Maybe we could have a battle of alignments? Pure Good v Chaotic Good v Neutral v Chaotic Evil v Pond Scum. I think I may do that one . EDIT: Purge appears to have started his tournament. I'll start mine once his has finished. <a href="https://forums.galciv2.c
Well if your not going to be back until August, I could run a couple of tournaments in your place, if no one else volunteers. I haven't got many ideas though, so if anyone wants to contribute some, go ahead. <img src="http://newaltmeta.thegalacticcore.com/sig/8917/1.png" title="Visit the A
If you have DA, you could try opening the .customracexml file , finding Custom Star , and changing 'Custom Star' to something you have set out in CutomPlanets.xml .
One quick entry from me. Slightly more successful than my last one, I was planning for a Tech Victory (was actually 1 tech away), but the last Civ out of 3 was culturally exterminated by the Thal, who I was allied to, meaning I won a diplo victory. <a href="http://newaltmeta.thegalacticcore
There are also a handful of modding tutorials, mostly dealing with the XML, on TBS Modder .
A great shift in the AltMeta top 10 has seen us rise to 8th! We have overtaken the Colonial Fleet, but now have to take on The Gerontocracy, who have come out of nowhere. Congratulations all, and good luck in your games! <img src="http://newaltmeta.thegalacticcore.com/sig/8917/1.png" title
With most mods you unzip it into Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods or Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods
You can only can the names, every thing else is in the game coded to change it would violate the EULA. No, the EULA allows for changing the XMLs, that's why they're there in the first place; if Stardock didn't want us to mod these values they would have hard coded them. From the EULA: YOU MAY: ... 6. Create "mods" based on the documented functions of the SOFTWARE to customize it and upload those "mods"
First of all, you will need to set up a mod in the mod folder. See this tutorial for that. Weapons, defenses, engines and all other ship modules are defined in the GC2Types.xml file in GalCiv2\Data\English. For info of what to do with that file, see the official modding guide . Hope this helps.
