Im looking for people interested in working with the Alpha Centauri Mod. Right now all i can do is XML editing and graphics editing (pictures & UI). I need people with the following skills: - Someone with in-depth knowledge of the data files in GC not only the XML but also some knowledge about the .str and other files. - Someone that knows a lot about the game itself (GC) and knows how things works in the game. For helping with game balancing

Well it certainly looks like we have a Main Menu now. ;) There is some stuff I whould like to add to it though. Like an animated version of the Unity, the one seen at the menu where you choose wheter to play the original or Alien Crossfire and the logo off course.

Once again thank you for your support and good ideas! It really helps me to come up with new ideas. I have realized that giving the factions some bonuses and a few extra techs and improvements isn't enough to make them interesting so therefore I have tried to come up with some ideas for them. The Hive: The Hive have an almost nonexistent culture and is hardly especially tempting to join with. Therefore they should have really weak influence but to prevent their planets from rebel

Thanks for all the positive response! In a way I actually kinda regret to announce it so early before I even have gotten started on the heavy stuff, on the other hand I have gotten a lot of great feedback. :) I have been working on some ideas for the techs and improvements. Each faction will get a unique soldiering branch for example "Military Tradition" for the Spartans while the Gaians get the less powerful tech "Non-lethal Methods" due to their pacifistic nature. I will probably also expand t

As you can see two of the factions didn't make it, The Data Angels & The Cult of Planet. Why? Because of the race limit 12. The Data Angels were cut because it would be hard to make a faction that depends entirely on spies(probe teams) in GC2. The Cult was cut because we alr

I´ve finally bought DA a couple of days ago and im having freat fun with it so far, big thanks to Stardock for creating such a solid expansion. However I have a question concerning the creation of custom civilizations. When choosing AI behaviour you get to choose between the ones used by the standard civs, but what strategies do they normally use? I can understand that the Drengin are generally more aggressive than for example the Torians but is there anyone who know more in-depth whats typical

Thanks for the answers. Since the game isnt as customiseable as I thought I will propably have to rethink alot. To be honest, I dont think I will be able to do the mod I want at all with these restrictions. To bad since I spent my computerless summer vacation writing down lots of ideas. No offence meant to you stardock since its a great game but I find it to restrictive when it comes to modding unlike other games. The reason I wanted to mod this game is that its the only 4X game I know these day

1. Is it possible to have unique names for the improvements depending on wich race is used? For example a food improvement is called "Farm" by Race A. But called "City" by race B 2. To what extent can you customise the civilisations? Such as buildings, UI, tech tree, music, invasion/defensive* tactics and well everything else. * 3. Ive been thinking about adding a new concept to the invasions called Defensive Tactics that the defender can choose from when a planet of

If the battles were realistic in GC2 it would mean that the ships were miles apart from each other, firing their weapons. Not going broadside to broadside firing every weapon they have and if they were far apart from each other it really wouldnt inflict any damage at all if one ship exploded.
