Hegemonia was ok. But all the bugs it had made me cry, and the expansion was never released in the U.S. I think...I had to order from the UK. Even then, the campaign had nasty bugs that wouldn't let me complete it and the unit cap was ridiculous. Besides those things its what got me into these kind of games and with out it. I would of never bought Homeworld or Sins.

Wow here is a great way to listen to Homeworld's music without doing all of that! Step 1: Play Homeworld.
Or you can open the achievements file and set all to TRUE. Easier way to own the space ponies.
But everyone gets a free cap at the beginning. Just get the atlantian capital that bombs planets the best and it is a fast game. Or maybe Nerf the cap at the beginning until you research the right techs.

Played all three of those games that you mention at the end. The Witcher was pretty good..haven't played an RPG that entertaining since well BG2.
This is a weird incident..not sure its a bug. Ok, I tell my whole fleet to jump to this asteroid that is directly underneath one of my planets. Like its a 2 second jump literally. So the whole fleet jumps with out a hitch excluding two ships. One KoL and one Kodiak. They just kind of fly around looking for a spot to jump..but they never do. Here are the record of it.
